Adding the burger CAI actually make my exhaust louder as well. Made the overrun more noticeable as well with some slight turbo spool. With the JB4 the overrun is much more apparent even in comfort mode and turbo spool now comes with a slight bov sound. Other option would be a catless DP if you want a louder exhaust. There is a catted DP out for the 340, but every time I checked it said out of stock. Not sure if it was discontinued.

Has anyone tried removing BOTH resonators? Also, as one person said, the first "resonator" may be a secondary cat after the oxygen sensor, so I'm wondering if removing it would actually be beneficial from a performance standpoint while not throwing a code.

The m235/240 exhausts are already pretty free flowing. That's why any exhaust system nets maybe 5-10hp tops). Definitely not noticeable by the butt dyno. However, the downpipe is the most restrictive.

Sure, removing any resonator/secondary cat would provide better performance, not not a huge difference. If you're asking about leaving stock downpipe (with primary cat) and removing the mid pipe if you wouldn't get a code, then I would think yes only because both sensors that would trigger a code are in the downpipe, there's no sensors to trip after that.

If you mean going catless downpipe and straightpiping the midsection then yes, you will most definitely get an error code.

This midpipe connects to the stock downpipe or to the first resonator (the squared one) ?? I mean, does it remove the squared and the cylindrical resonators before the axleback or muffler or just the new cylindrical one (not present in M235i) ???

I'd like to improve the exhaust sound but preserving the stock downpipe (specially because of the warranty).

This midpipe is attached to the stock clamps in the chassis ?

It replaces the entire pipe from the downpipe all the way back to the start of the muffler. Uses all of the factory clamps (would have to double check if the pipe is welded to the factory muffler or not. Might need one clamp and cut the old muffler). It replaces the first flat resonator/secondary cat and the cylindrical resonator right after it.

It's great of you want to do the work yourself or a local exhaust/mechanic shop will charge you more than a couple hundred bucks to weld in/custom fit a new straight pipe in. I know there's a shop near me that will do a full straightpipe with new tips starting at the downpipe for $300. Don't see why an exhaust shop wouldn't charge less just for just a midpipe.

No you won't trigger a CEL with the setup. Literally zero sensors after the downpipe.

I will mention if you have an exhaust shop make you a midpipe, make sure they make a bracket at the front for support. This midpipe you can see the bracket at the front end of the pipe. It provides support so the weight of the exhaust isn't on the back hangers and the downpipe support brackets. Also provides regidity in the exhaust in case you get rear ended. Without it, it could break the exhaust manifold and turbo housing from rear impact on the exhaust tips.

Based on those videos, it seems like a midpipe deleting both resonators increases the sound quite a bit more than deleting just the rear resonator (like OP did). Anyone else deleted both? I'm debating deleting both resonators or doing a muffler delete.

I would like to chime in on this post to offer my experience with dual resonator delete on the M240i. I can echo the general consensus from others on this - 10-15% louder inside the car, very close to stock sound levels in Comfort mode, Sport mode and up there are many enjoyable pops and crackles accompanied by a more pronounced exhaust tone. No drone whatsoever, I am extremely picky with tone and volume as this is my daily driven vehicle.
