I think I may have decided to quit messing with it and just enjoy it. That would be weird, I know.

I'm nearly there with you on that.

all that's left is some new wheels. but probably don't really need them.

oh and the brakes - need some tar ox sport japan drilled and slotted rotors with some ebc yellow stuff pads and braided lines.

next time brake pads are needed i'll replace with the above.

seems no one can just leave their cars alone - weird as you say.

For $50 and a couple hours of my time, I am happy with it. Completely removable too.

Took the steering wheel completely off to better tuck some of the edges under the steering wheel trim and now I'm getting error messages about the PDC
Nice work! Looks good. One of the reasons I didn't go with a light colored interior on my 2er is because there was no matching color up on the dash or even the floors. Coming from the P-car world, this felt very strange. If I buy a light colored interior, I want most of the cabin to be light and convey the same "airyness." Your mod here kind of does something about that on the bimmer and I think that's cool!

Installed the carbon fiber shift cover and carbon fiber shift base with alcantara.

My local dealership has orders the trim package for me twice already and both times the package has come in with a missing part. I guess that have a bad batch and the main warehouse.

So now I am patiently waiting for the rest to arrive.

My last two cars were grey on black and black on black, both with carbon fiber trim. I wanted to mix things up a bit and the lighter color interior does a great job of giving the illusion of more room in the passenger compartment.

Replaced the brake pads on all four corners with StopTech Sport pads, StopTech stainless braided lines, fluid flush. Big difference from stock.

Nice, it's crazy what some fluid and pads can really do for initial bite, and hard braking. I went with the EBC Yellows for DD and it felt like a whole new braking system, you get on them at any time, and you're about 30-40% more effective, in my opinion. Stock pads feel great and are quiet, but as soon as you demand a high speed brake check, you notice how poor they really are, at those limits.

You'll become a lot more confident with late braking, as you get used to the feel, as well.

Shweet. Let us know what you think about the pads compared to stock. I'm in the beginning phase of doing brake pad research to find something that will work really, really well on track, while also not killing my rotors too quickly or screeching too bad in dry weather. Don't care about wet screeching since I don't plan to drive much in wet weather (have other cars for that). Any feedback you can provide on those pads is going to be much appreciated!

good DIY job, but a bit fiddly and tricky working in the passenger footwell to connect it up.

The day we can figure out how to run 2x OBD devices, simultaneously, is the day I pony up and grab one of these. Unfortunately you can't pair this with a JB4 or any piggyback that utilized the OBD for data.

Have always wanted one, super jelly!

You'd have to make sure everything work work properly at the same time but Bimmian sells an OBD splitter to plug 3 things at once in. It does say on one pic digital gauge and throttle remapper so it very well could accomplish what you want to do.

From what Terry at BMW was saying, is that the splitting slow down the data collection significantly. So it would hinder the JB4's performance, and your live data may also be hindered/delayed/slowed down as well. I suppose if you're not running meth or want boost by gear control through the JB4, you could just do a flash tune and be done, install Awron gauge no sweat.. I just don't want to lose those above noted features, they make driving a high hp MT turbo car, that much better. Boost by gear being my favourite feature, aside from Phone app data logging and tune altering, hands down the most convenient platform I've ever used. JB4 phone app also gives you everything the Awron gauge does, just not NEARLY as pretty, and OEM+

Did the SCCA Land O'Lakes PDX driving event (Sunday). It was ~15 degrees at the start, and snowing in the afternoon. So, I did the event on my snow tires. Only took 1mm of rubber off, so not too bad. The snows sure impacted the braking, so I wasn't pushing it too hard. Still, really glad I flushed the brakes and put in some Motul 600 the day before.

Even with the cold and snow, I had a blast. Here's a clip of my fastest two laps. Just before the snow started. First time with the GoPro, so I have some work to do on the video side. This wasn't a timed event, so I was using M Laptimer to keep track of things.

Stupid question Hasser - what's the thing on the left vent that says BMW on it?

Im just running a jb 1 box, so it's ok. if I was going for more power now I think I would go for the bootmod3 remaps.

only thing I'm not really happy with on the awron, is I can't open or close the exhaust flap with a single button. you need to go into the menu and select open, closed or auto.

would be better if you could operate from the steering wheel.

True confessions, lately I've been lurking on the M4 and Porsche Boxster 718 forums dreaming about my "next" car. Then yesterday we had our first "top down" day and I was reminded of why I fell in love with my m235i vert as I found my self thinking, damn, this really is a great car. As I drove home from work last night, top down, sun shining, aviators on, 70's on 7 blasting tunes (what can I say, I'm old), running the revs to 5K, rolling through the gears I found I wasn't annoyed with the traffic or the commute. When I stopped at the local Staples to drop off a toner cartridge for recycling as I walked to the store I did the "look back" and thought YES. While I think an M4 vert or Boxster is still in my future, with more days like yesterday ahead of me, I am perfectly content to rack up the miles full of smiles with my Bimmer. It was a good day.
