I checked the 10 day weather forecast to see if I could put the summers back on. Then I became sad.

So I *tried* to go on a Holly week road trip to beautiful Cartagena. I had bought a spare, getting ready for Colombian, developing country sub-standard roads and run-flats. Heard a couple horror stories for not having one.

All was well...

Until we hit a pothole @ around 50 km/h with the two left tires. Front one bulged, rear one cracked open because of the wheel.

8 hours later we were back home.

Getting rid of those run-flats today.

Installed Dinan mid pipe.
Local dealer quoted $450 for labor only and needed whole day. WTF.

I just installed it with my friend.
It took just under an hour to do it in my friend's garage.
(took about 20 minutes to figure out how to lift the front. floor jack was too high to fit in, so actual work on exhaust part was just 40 minute.)

Love the sound. Stock sound should be like this.
$500 well spent.

Now I just need to find where it rattles when it's been driven 10~15 minute from cold start.
It rattles around where the mid-joint is for just 2~3 minutes when the car is in D and stopped. After that, it's gone. So weird.

Garage List
Quick wash and then swapped out my winter wheels and tires for the BMW summer wheels and tires. Of course we are supposed to get snow on Saturday, but I have my truck. It's a big job, worst part is cleaning the winter wheels and tires and storing them so they're ready to be remounted again in November. It WILL stop raining and warm up soon so I can enjoy my first top-down day sooner or later.

I have the Dinan midpipe as well (which does sound amazing). I did the install too, super easy, but pretty tedious figuring out whether to use a cut off wheel or a huge sawzall while cramped under the car.

I have the same rattle you're talking about. Only while idling in neutral when the car is warm. The second I rev the car a tiny bit, it goes away and it returns as the revs settle down. It must be a clamp or something. I know it isn't making contact with anything. Weird....

Installed VRSF 12mm spacers all around. Looks much better and the back will come out perfect with wider tires on the next set.

Had to removed the hub dust caps for the spacers to go on and found moisture and rusty sludge behind each one. Anyone else notice this? I'm kind of glad I took them off vs letting that stuff fester.

Excuse the filthy car. Today was the first day in a while that it hasn't rained.

I joined this site! Long time lurker, first time poster.

Also, my wife and I welcomed home the newest member of our family. We adopted this little two-year old and couldn’t be happier with her. She’s got a shiny smile, a bright complexion, and is very vocal. She’s not perfect – she tends to get messy easily, and rough New England roads make her a little fussy – but we’ve quickly fallen in love with her.

KPT2, I LOVE what you did with yours. Do you have any suspension mods? Wheel spacers? I was considering the 19” 710s as well (likely in Matte Black), but I want to know if they fit well with a completely stock setup.

Ordered my new summer tires, so of course we got hit with 8" of snow and a hurricane-blizzard the next day. That took out 3 of the trees in the backyard, but at least I got the tires ordered before the unexpected bills for tree removal.
