Dinan Stage 2, Dinan Intake, Stock Exhaust

Does anyone have experience with a Dinan Stage 2 with Dinan cold air intake, but with the stock exhaust? Looking for what might be the penalty for keeping the stock exhaust. Thanks much...

Penalty is very little. Couple HP at the top end at most. The exhaust does not contribute a whole lot to the overall power but rather is there mainly for sound improvement. Does it help with the air flow and garner a modicum of power? Sure.

Short of it is if you like the sound of the stock exhaust, don't bother to upgrade. If you want something a bit more meaty then upgrade the exhaust.

I'm running Dinan S2 with CAI and stock exhaust. All good here.

Take 4-6 hp away from numbers Dinan claims... ( Dinan told me this over the phone).

The intake alone will give you a squeal (not exactly BOV) sound.

The dinan st2 is not as fast as some of the other tunes available, but i went that route after having my Cobb tuned 335, with every bolt on blow up on me 4 times in year.

I'd rather be on the conservative tune side with excellent reliability.

When I first installed it, I remember feeling not as happy as expected for the money, but its grown on me. I will wait till the spring to do the FMIC and Turbo upgrade for Stage 4.

Not that 4-6hp is a big deal....but, Dinan told you their advertised numbers are overrated?? Why don't they change/correct the listed numbers? Was there any explanation for this?

They said take 4-6hp off listed numbers for running stock exhaust vs. a dinan exhaust with stage 2 tune and intake.

They did not say they use overratedd numbers.

Hope that clarifies.
