BMW M Performance Exhaust. Difference between verisons
whats the difference between the M Performance Exhaust for the stock diffuser and the one for the performance diffuser.
Can I use the exhaust for the performance diffuser, with the stock diffuser? |

I'd suggest contacting your local BMW Dealership. The parts department (or MP Parts Department if they have one dedicated to it) should be able to answer the question best. The only thing I could think of is the diameter of the exhaust tips it comes with. Maybe the MPE can come with larger ones to fill out the diffuser more.

- Longer tailpipes The one for the stock diffuser is designed to fit just the stock diffuser (how far the tips stick out). On the flip side, the M Performance Diffuser is a bit deeper so the tips would need to protrude further. Therefore, this version has longer tailpipes so the tips fit the diffuser better. If you get the one for the stock diffuser and decide you want to get the MP Diffuser later, BMW sells adapters that extend the exhaust. |

I had heard that the difference was 1", However , I have the Short version and also have the M-Perf rear diffuser and all I had to do was slide the tips back 5/8" and they fit the same as the stock diffuser , No adaptors needed.
