Talking Another Stage 4 comming

I just got the call from my Dealer , Stage 4 stuff , springs and swaybars are in. Early next week I'll have a new M235i to drive , Now I really feel like a little kid at Christmas time, I guess you never grow out of that, you just get better toys.

I'm guessing that's a good time with that elevation, but it's about in line with a 1 plug $199 piggyback in a flat state. I think if I lived in Colorado, I'd look a lot closer at a Tesla or just get a non-performance car, as standard cars are just tough to make fast there. I suppose it's all relative though and probably took over a second off your 1/4 I'd think.

Weeeell Now, The Dinan Stage 4 set up really brings this thing to life and actually makes the car easier to drive, I can steer with the throttle again and with the Dinan springs push in the front end has nearly been eliminated.
Dinan has really done their homework and produced a well balanced system, seems like every component complements the next. None of the issues found with mix & match performance
The Dinan muffler with the resonator delete kit is loud enough to hear in the car and with the Active sound gone it's perfect.
Overall ...... I Like It !

How did you remove active sound with a Dinan tune?

Barry,

I've had my stage 4 for 2 weeks now and couldn't agree more. I opted to keep mine a real sleeper by not putting the Dinan badge on. Absolutely loving it. The power, the sound of the exhaust.

Is your car x-drive? Also, where did you order the color overlays for the grill?

Thanks.

Phil

Hi Phil
Nope mine is 2x. It could use another 2 wheels of traction. If I did it again I'd go 240xdrive stage 4 over an M2 right now.....:-)
I left the badge on......

So it's stuck at 400hp for 20k with of Dinan parts on my car sweet right. Dinan has the ability to turn the damn boost up or even hold boost to red line. Dinan also talked about a race gas tune and that didn't happen. I even offered to fly Dinan in to Colorado and use our dyno to custom tune my car. They were not interested. Would I buy another Dinan bmw? Maybee but probably not. Do I love my car absolutely but I want more and they don't want my money so. Might ditch the Dinan and go pure stage 2. Then again might sell the car and get something else. Buying Dinan makes sense to protect the car and the warranty and for ease. Dinan makes the tune so safe it won't blow up so they never have fix. I see Dinan has committed and if they see this give us a high boost 100 Oct/ or e30 tune. Don't leave us hanging because the m2 came out that's stupid. My money is green to. I guess being the first stage 4 in country means nothing to them. But my money did.
Interesting perspective. Maybe it's just a case of not being bleeding edge. My stage 4 cost me under $10K, and I'm very happy with it and would do it again if I had to. When I order my M235, the M2 was announced around the same time, and I decided to go with a stage 4 Dinan M235 right from the start. Primarily because I wanted x-drive as this was going to be a daily car for me. I ordered the car with staggered tires, thus giving me the higher limited speed, and put the full BMW aero kit on upon delivery. Waited about 10 weeks for my Dinan stage 4 and have had it now for 2 weeks. Absolutely loving it, and all in all, it probably cost me around the same price as an M2 but I have x-drive.

Is your car red by chance? I think I may have been driving behind you yesterday on Hampden.

Has anyone done any 1/4 runs? I'm mainly interested in trap speed.

I highly doubt any of these stage 4 dinan cars will go faster than 12.1 in a quarter mile.

Its only 400 whp, which is alot but a jb4 makes 405 with just a downpipe.

Still waiting on any dyno and a time slip with video.

You have to be a little upset about that?

Not even 400... for 10k or more.

You could have had Luminous' 600+whp monster and went home with change!

Barry got a serious garage tho.. look at that signature! Invite me over for a track day in that gts!

Never spent near that and I'm extremely happy. When considering drive train loss, that's about what I would have expected.

Bryan, Thunderhill is booked for dec 11 and I need more drivers. It's far from you but you're welcome to join. M3, GTS and E36 will be there from my stable :-)

Not really offering you to take them for the track day....... but the right seat will be open
GTS will not have done the break-in service yet either, so it will be there for appetizers.
