I can always get back into one. Or try something different. Can't disagree with anything you stated.

Great writeup and perspective and comparisons. I sort of cracked up on your "look at me" factor. I've had an M235i for 2+ yrs and have only had a couple folks ask about it. One of them thought I bought an M badge and put it on the trunk. So yea does not get the looks that my E46 M3 got.
Then again it's quicker that it looks and hopefully someday I'll be able to move up to an M2. Seeing all the cool cars you've had and now in an M2 has convinced me that it might be time to search the used M2 market. My M235i has depreciated more than I expected. I paid 40K for a 1 yr old car with 9K on it and it's worth like 28-30k already. Oh well, sort of a stepping stone. Those 991 GTS's make my head swivel but like you say it's a 100K decision. Ha.

I'll be interested in what you think of the Dinan exhaust with resonator delete vs. the MPE. The Dinan combo is actually cheaper this time, but I like the look of the MPE better.

Oh man I don't even want to think about that. I used to have so many shares for years and years and sold them for...... a lot less than they are now. I still have a dividend from them that mocks me it says...
Symbol Total Gain*% NVDA 1,087.04% The gain on the shares I sold would have been WAY higher than 1087% The amount of money I could have made holding until now, boggles the mind. FML Last edited by akkando; 02-14-2018 at 01:52 AM.. |

Other than the rod bearing concerns, I keep hearing the 6MT sucks on the E9x M3. How do you compare it to the M2? Thanks! |

Dinan is deeper, a bit more reserved, has a very different sound. Neither blows me away, but adds a little spice to the M2.

This thread is a great example of why I read these forums. Very interesting information. Thanks Damage. I had a very highly option 14 C4S with power kit, essentially a GTS. Great car but I also wrestled with the investment in it.

The E92 would be my long term keeper. The M2 for a DD, 5 day a week car. But the E92 w akra for those special drives to get out a let the V8 rip when the need arises. Plus you can pick up something decent for around $30k. Doesnt break the bank.
