It looks like most of you guys have newer 235's. I have a 14 and could never get oil temp to show up on an app and I tried a few.

This is my standard screen, which you can customize. I never tried it on my 2014 coupe but it works on my 2016 convertible. I cannot imagine they would be different. It reads all zeroes now since I'm not in the car but they do all work properly.

I had the same - while it worked - I did not like hiding the phone everytime I parked. Plus I didn't like the added on look. Functionally it was fine.

Would do an Awron gauge in a heartbeat if I could run it in tandem with the JB4 OBD dongle, one can dream...

The AWRON does not use the OBD port - why do you think it cannot work with the OBD dongle?

Yeah I run a proclip and have my phone on the dash at all times, so it's actually the cleanest option for me.

AFAIK, all of these devices all feed from the OBD CAN-BUS connection. These systems can only support a single device, for live streaming data, regardless if you've plugged into the port itself, or tapped into the wiring behind the scenes. The data transfer rate on the CAN-BUS system will not keep up with two devices, this is something that has been a struggle since the mid-2k's...

Correct me if I'm wrong, though.. I'd love to be wrong in this case!

From Terry @ BMS

"Despite what the AWRON guys will tell you, they are really not compatible. The JB4 relies on accurate and precise CANbus data for it's tuning on Stage2+, with a minimum frequency of 10hz, or 10 updates per second. When you add in the AWRON or other OBDII devices that pull DME data, the JB4 sample rate greatly drops. I've seen it drop as low as 3hz. And the AWRON sample rate drops too, as both are fighting for data priority.

If you insist on using an AWRON gauge then my advice would be to run the JB4 as a Stage1 only. Or downgrade it to a Stage1 tune. That does not have CANbus access."

Wow interesting. I wish I knew could tell you different but I do not. I hope you find a solution.

The solution is to utilize the app based gauge set within the JB4 Mobile App, which shows me what an awron gauge would, just not nearly as clean and oem+ in appearance. Definitely more a “want” than a “need”.

First world problem, no doubt lol
