What city is the 2er manufacured in? I just found out today that my car is out of production and on it's way to the shipping port. Not sure which port that is at the moment. I live in Dallas... I'm guessing that means it hits the east coast and then gets trucked to the dealer here? The website still shows in production but we all know it's a bit behind reality.

Leipzig, it will ship out of Bremerhaven. There are alot of tracking threads on the board to help you pass the time while you are waiting - start here:

Mine is on the VOLANS LEADER - but it has been delayed because of weather. :/

At least my car won't damaged, at least from the storms anyway....

Was it updated on bmwusa.com? Mine has been showing waiting to ship for weeks now. I know it arrived in port On Feb 7th, but status hasn't changed since then.

Within the Owner's Circle, yes - it now says "on its way to the US"

However, it didn't change there for at least 4-5 days after I knew it was on the ship.

Your SA has the ability to see this -- tell him or her to get off their respective lazy ass and check the "In Transit to Final VPC" section of your order within the BMW system.

My guess is that you're on a boat by now for sure...if you find out the name, there are some methods by which you can track the progress across the pond.

Mine is now showing "in transit". I plan on heading to the dealer in the next couple of days to see what ship it is on. It might be the VOLANS LEADER as well, although looking at Bremerhaven departures this week, I do not see that ship leaving port yet. Did you get the ship name from your dealer?

I sure did get it from my SA- he just took a picture of his screen in the BMW order system and sent it to me in an email.

It contains loads of good info - the ship's name, the port of entry, etc.

My 228i Sport just finished production Friday. I called and they said it was released to the carrier. Don't know what that means... I'll call again Monday to see if it's sitting at the port.

I got a call from my dealer and I got to sit in a M235i. It was very very nice!

I really like the gray - I was afraid to order it initially because I wondered how the mirrors, wheels, and diffuser would all work with that color...but it really does look nice.

I just found out mine left Bremerhaven on 2/16 on the Parisal, it's suppose to arrive in Baltimore end of this week.
