Devastated

So I'm driving to work and a piece of plastic/rubber falls off a truck and hits the lower front skirt of my car.

End result is a scratched front bumper and a cracked lower honey comb center grille. Anyone know what the center piece on lower front skirt might cost?

Here you can see the part number and maybe call your local dealer or the guys at Tischer to get price quotes...

One thing I learned after an 18-wheeler tire came off the wheel of the truck in front of me and I ran over it in my 330ci... chase them down and get their license plate. Your insurance company will go after them. If not, they'll list it as an at-fault incident, and that sucks for everyone.

Good luck on the fix, bud.

Much appreciated man.

It's part #4, which is literally just a small plastic piece. Hoping that it can't cost more than a couple of hundred.

Just a piece of friendly, unsolicited advice... no reason to be 'devastated.' It's just a car. No one was hurt.

I feel you. I got rear ended in mine with 60 miles on it (day 2 of ownership). That was a few weeks ago and it isn't fixed yet, but at this point I am over it. It's just the initial shock that totally sucks!

Bad luck! Did you follow the truck or get their license plate? Ultimately they are responsible for paying but that could be difficult to enforce.

Feel for you mate. Had the exact same thing happen to me in one of my old cars.

Ended up costing me £500 ($800), hope yours is a wallet friendlier experience.

That's why you have insurance my friend.
USE it, unless of course your deductible is nearly the cost of the repair.

Being hit with debris is a "no fault" claim.
Your premium shouldn't go up for that.
But much depends on your insurance company and your driving record.
Good luck with it.

That absolutely sucks. Had a similar thing happen to my 135. A truck dropped something out and hit the bottom front of my skirt leaving a good mark. Hope you can get it fixed cheaply.
