F22 “chrome” trim. Is it plastic or is it aluminum?

I need to polish the cloudiness out of my trim. I know it can be done, but need to know exactly what the trim is made of. It is hard to tell. No guessing.

Most of it is anodized aluminum, which makes it difficult to correct.

Can anyone confirm that it is anodized aluminum? I believe it is. From what I've seen, it can be polished and sealed. If it is plastic, metal polishes will damage it. This is why I would like to confirm for sure.

I have black trim. I can confirm it is metal.

If it is stained or weathered, just use paint polishing compound.

I use wd40 and it takes about 5 min to do each side (around windows). Simply a rag and pointed finger and it looks like new for a few months until I repeat.
