Some internal BMW coding has changed from time to time throughout the years. Different markets have different standards for which options will be programmed while other areas are denied them. As mentioned in this thread, UK coding has more default options enabled then the USA coding.

If you have the programming software and interface cable you can change the defaults. The logic behind different settings based on market is one I cannot answer, but some governing body has made the difference choices for us. Check around the BMW boards, chances there are local "hackers" who have the software and experience who are willing to do this for you for a small fee. The software is expensive when purchased through proper channels if you decide to do it yourself.

There are guys who will code remotely. Mike Benso (can't remember his name exactly) does it. He's a member.

What is the digital speedo option? Where does that actually show up and what does it look like?

Digital speed shows up with the BC stalk on the cluster, in a V = XX display.

Another awesome coding option - the actual tire pressures and temperatures are now displayed:

Is there somewhere we could see an entire list of the options they can code in?

The options are predefined.
You select them from a menu.
Once I get my notebook loaded.
I will put up a list of options

Most of the coding I had done won't require the tech package, but I'm not sure if things like the tire pressures/temps will work (unless non-tech cars have that menu option too) or DVDinMotion.

I believe all the codes are there but if you don't have the hardware to back it up then changing it will do nothing. for example if you don't have the motors to fold the side mirrors in then changing the code will do nothing.

Are you paying more for each additional coding? Or are they doing it for one flat fee.?

Whether you want 1 or 15+ options, it's one flat fee. Just makes things easier.

That is great. Can you do this remotely? I have seen coding remotely to a friends car. Do you have that knowledge.

Sorry guys, I don't do remote coding. Car will physically need to be in our facility.

Brings just arrived - going to poke around a bit more to see what else is available.

Not sure about you guys but I'm actually pretty relieved the coding cannot be done remotely. The last thing we need is people hacking our cars remotely and having the ability to change the ECU programming, regardless of any 'security' measures that may be put in place to prevent it from happening. Proximity is the first line of defense.

Pretty certain Tech Package is required for A2DP streaming, it was on E-chassis models.

On a separate note: you guys are going to love this Awron package, just got installation completed.
