First M235i Coded at EAS

I dropped by European Auto Source again to get even more things done to my car. This time, it wasn't anything tangible. Instead, I got some neat things coded into the car to customize the car's programming to my tastes. The main reason why I wanted coding done was to get the LED angel eyes/halos to NOT dim out when the headlights are turned on, which is working beautifully. The headlights look amazing at night now. With that said, I got a ton of other coding done as well, which is all listed below:

Angel Eye brightness 100%
1-touch window up while doors open
DVDinMotion
Disable iDrive disclaimer
Disable rear camera disclaimer
Fold mirrors with Comfort Access / FOB
Fuel reserve warning set to 1/8 tank
Change Bluetooth ringtone to personal tone (this was cool - the car now rings using my iPhone's ringtone instead of the car's internal tone when it is connected via BT)
Close windows with FOB
Digital speedometer
Always remember A/C off on start up (this is a must have - it is annoying to have the A/C turn on every time you start up the car).
Remove seatbelt chime

In short, this confirms that many coding options available for the other F-series BMWs are possible to do on this car as well. I don't know if other shops can do all of the coding listed here, but EAS will be able to do them for you.

Here is a video showing the angel eyes not dimming when the headlights are turned on:

I gotta give big thanks to Tom @ EAS for spending the time and effort to get my car's coding just the way I wanted! I apologize for taking up so much of your guys' time lol.

Wow, I had no idea you could get all of that done. Do some of those things violate the law? Just curious... I would totally opt to have most of those things done. Will the dealers not do them?

Nice.

Interestingly my car came with windows close on fob and fold mirrors on fob / comfort access already.

Short press if handle to lock car, press and hold folds mirrors.

Will be getting some of those bits coded though for sure

I don't believe the dealers will do them (not the ones I go to anyways). I believe some will violate the law around here such as DVDinMotion (watch movies while driving - really it would be more for the passenger in my case), but the rest should be fine.

I don't have any blu ray movies, so I'm unable to test that, unfortunately.

When the dealer does a software update, wouldn't it erase all these settings?

Does anyone know a way we can do this ourselves? I remember using vag-com on my VW's to change settings like these.

Yes you can do it yourself. It is called BMW Coding and there are Internet sites that will help you.

This is very interesting.. I wonder what effects it has on warranty issues if this is something they'll detect (assuming you are going in for electrical issues..)

I can't imagine this effecting anything as these codes are in the ECU. Its just in the USA those options are turned off for stupid people. Laws have been created here to prevent stupid people from common sense. Unfortunately for those who have common sense have to suffer.
But at least there is a way to circumvent the options.

It was $95 (flat-fee) to do all of the coding (I just mark off the options I want). I don't think it can be done remotely though.

As mentioned in one my replies in the thread, it is really more for the passengers. The $95 fee got me unlimited options I wanted to code, so I just opted to have as many things coded as possible from their list.

EAS couldn't get anything done in terms of the temp display with coding, but I found another solution that I can't wait to get installed: http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showt...php?p=15836620
