Curb weight is official also at 3,461lbs.

Here's the official release of pricing, weights, etc.:

The M235i is looking more and more better.

Ya. Pretty much loaded. Only other stand alone option I know of is sport seats.

cheaper than a loaded M235i and comes with AWD, but the M235i may be worth the upgrade.

Wow I guess I can't be too mad then. All 3 cars (s3,M235i, and CLA45 AMG) all weigh around the same 3,500.

Kinda makes sense.. The weight they lost for going to 4 cylinder is gained by going AWD, while the BMW has a bigger engine but no AWD.

Funny how many of the specs of the S3 are TBD. But its 0-60 is 4.7..

Ha, I posted the pricing info and overview doc on Fourtitude. Glad to see the info is making its way around and helpful to folks.

Just confirmed my order on an M235 and got my deposit back on the S3 after a trip to the Chicago car show. BMW just put a bigger smile on my face and I need something sooner rather than later.

I would LOVE the S3..then I remember how bad the S4 I drove plowed. As much as I love everything about the S3/S4, Audi still hasn't fixed the weight over the front.

IMHO if u are going to go for Audi, then S5 is the only option (S3 or S4 - don't like the design; A5 is underpowered), albeit sadly the S5 is too darn expensive. Ergo M235i.

I saw the same car and found S3 front-end overcooked with its huge chromed grille resembling dental braces.

Have you driven both Audi and BMW manual transmissions. I personally have only owned Audi and love their 6 speeds while they still offered them on cars. How do you think they compare to BMW?

Neither are special but BMW's are generally a little better with clearer feedback from the clutch, especially with no CDV.

While my current plan is to replace my 1er cabrio with the M235i Cabrio when it becomes available later this year, I am going to seriously look at the S3 cabrio (pics of which have just been released prior to the upcoming Geneva Auto Show- see below).
I just saw the A3 Sedan and Cabrio as well as the S3 Sedan at the Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto this week and the S3 cabrio will definitely be a consideration.

seems like the S3 and the Golf R won't have the multi port fuel injection feature for their motors, at least that's the case in the US. horsepower and efficiency will go down...i've been following the S3 and the R for quite some time, there's a big thread in VWvortex raging on about how AoA screwed them over, for me this means both these cars are out of the question. low engine tech, down on power, inefficient, part time Haldex and cost nearly as much as the M235i? no thanks...
