Sounds like bad news for those of us who have ordered and have a long wait.

Well, that's a bit disappointing.
I had hoped to replace my 6+ yr old 1er cabrio with the 235xi cabrio, but it looks like there will be no xDrive 235i cabrio for MY 2015.
So now it'll have to be a choice between the Audi A3 Cabrio & the 228xi Cabrio.

Can't wait it out for the S3 cab?

No, the extended warranty on my 2008 2er cabrio (additional 3 years) runs out early next year.
It looks like Audi will only have the A3 cabrio at that time.

I don't think it is. The S also shows up on the 328 and 428.

That sucks. If you need AWD, 4 seats and a drop top you've got pretty slim pickings. I'd check out the S5 but otherwise not too many options besides what you're already considering.

I was looking to hold out for a 2015...but taking delivery in September seems like a stretch. I may just pull the trigger if I can with a 2014...

Gotcha.

I was thinking more in terms of an '87 Civic or something, just to get you by...

Why would I get a shitmobile?
If I needed a 2nd car (which I don't) and couldn't get the xDrive cabrio I want, I'd just hold onto my 1er cabrio.

An '87 Civic is a work of art my man - you are missing out!

My basic point is that if the car you want is some amount of time away that doesn't coincide with another nice car lease or purchase, you can drive something modest in the interim until said car is available.

Perhaps no one does that in Canada - regardless, it was just an idea.
