I assume this is referring to downshifting and not knowing how to properly rev match on your own shouldn't be something that comes on a "real M".. Sorry I find that funny and personally would not use it if we had it.

I thought I saw that on the new m3/4. My point was that these features that will be on M cars will not make it to next MY.

OP, if u are leasing or purchasing for that matter, then consider negotiating a great deal on an end-of-year 2014 M235i, when the 2015s start coming out - that's the smartest play, provided u can get the options u want.

Already been thinking about this as a cool option.

Right, and you'll do even better if you can wait and do that at the end of September.

When I bought my 2012 335is, there was not much thought from anyone, dealer or consumer, that a better deal could be had on a 2011 model year. The car remained pretty much the same, for starters, there was very limited inventory, and I managed to get what seems to be a standard price of $1000 above invoice.

I think the landscape will probably be the same for the M235i in a few months. You won't see 2014 build out. We aren't going from an e series to an f series... it's just f to f on a car only six months from its initial production.

I didn't even know the feature existed, to be honest. I will get comfort access because I have it on my car now and when I get a loaner vehicle without it, it really pisses me off. I have an X1 loaner right now that doesn't have comfort access. Getting the key out to unlock/lock doors and putting the key in the ignition to start the car is a pain in my ass, for real.

Sure, but if there are any deals to be had at all end of Sept would be the best time to try.

Sounds about right. I know the holidays (November/December) spark up holiday incentives as every manufacturer tries to squeeze as many deals in as possible to help them maintain the sales crown for the year.

Also often times trying to make their quarterly number. So you can often get a better deal end of March vs end of Feb, etc.

Ageed it's unlikely next year but in an interview somewhere on this forum when BMW was directly asked if the manual on the 235 did rev-matching they did not say "no" - they replied "not yet" - so it's probably coming. They already have it on the Mini, a much cheaper car, so it's likely it will move up the range.

I'm also assuming that rev-matching on the manual requires no extra hardware, just a software update to the ECU. So it's probable that if BMW does release a rev-matching feature for the manual it can be coded in as a software update.

Not so sure about that. From what I have read these systems need a special set of sensors for precise shifter position and possibly for a gearshift lever motion vector as well - it may not be doable as a retrofit.

Well, it's official. I've got the first slot at a dealer to order a 2015 M235i. He said pricing will be available in June and production in July.

Besides the xDrive, I have read there will be some interior and exterior color changes, and somewhere it was mentioned a steering wheel change (I think only on 228i without M Sport).

And now we know there will be a "Track Handling Package" for the 2015 228i! That is certainly a big change.

Hmmm my ordered car does not arrive until around August. I'm wondering if I would be able to switch to a 2015 model if it gets announced in the middle of my order.
