That is the Black Sapphire thread. The 2 series only comes in BSM.

Just to defend the OP, the 228i has the option of Jet Black.

But the "Official Black Thread" has been used for both, so I don't see the point on having this one.

I thought perhaps those color wheels are a special factory option for NZ customers as I had never seen those style BMW wheels in black before. Do you know exactly what black color your dealer used? Maybe BSM to match the body paint perfectly?

The reason I'm so interested is because I have a 2016 BSM 235 convertible on order, and for 2016 you can now order the wheels in Orbit Grey as well as the Ferric Grey which was the only choice for model year 2015.

I've ordered the car with the Orbit Grey wheels sight unseen (the 2016's apparently are just starting to roll out of the factory right now), and I'm somewhat concerned how Orbit Grey wheels are going to look on a black car with a black top (is that the standard black top on yours, or do you have the Moonlight option?).

Painting the wheels black in an interesting option that I had not considered, and it's easy to see that the M sport wheels painted black look fabulous on your car.

Where would i get the wheels painted? Would any good body shop have the ability to do that and bake the paint on? Would I be better off taking the wheels to a wheel repair specialist? Anyone have an idea what that might cost? Thanks.

It's just a standard black colour which our dealer does on some of their cars. Your own dealer should have a recommended wheel spray painter who bakes the wheels after painting.

Orbit Grey wheels may look great as long as their is no silver highlights for my taste.

The top is standard black.
