TheSmokingTire M235i XDrive

M235 xDrive on a soaking wet track. I don't think he actually disabled the stability control.

I've never cared for Matt Farrah and his reviews.....

Soaking wet, seriously? This is a new low for him.

So what tires would you test the car on? Winters?

PSS is what the car has from factory, and PSS aren't slicks that can't be used on wet roads.

Pretty much. When I learned that Chris Harris was leaving Drive, and we'd be stuck with Matt Farrah and the other dude, I knew right away that it was game over for them.

Love the smoking tire. Very fair and unbiased reviews. Always been a fan of the camera views. And his usual backyard of roads in LA, doesn't get better than that. It's a no fluff not overly produced car review like so many of them are. He loves the 2 as known from other reviews. He's a MT guy at heart, understandable. He said it has PSSs on the car so it came down to the AWD system. He admitted maybe he wasn't driving it right but he's not a novice driver by any stretch of the the imagination and like he said, the car should be performing well under those conditions and he's right.

Couple things i would like to point out
1- it is fine to do a review on a wet road, but you need to also review it on a dry one as well.

2- Driving a car for the first time on a track that you are new to and doing the review at the same time is never a good idea. You need to first adapt to the car and the track so you can drive it at its full potential for a good review.

3- He did not trust this car under the rain which made him not too confident ( understeer, oversteer, traction control and other issues that happened during the drive). He should have adapted to the car first and then attempted a review.

Here is Matt's review of the same car when the track was dry (next day).

this is the kind of ground breaking news you can only get from youtube car reviewers.

I really can't stand his reviews. I don't know what it is but he just rubs me the wrong way sometimes.

I always like Matt Farah's reviews but this shows me (and he admits it) that he truly lives in dry CA and maybe has no idea how to drive AWD in the rain. I don't have my car yet, but if it is as bad as he's making it out to be in the wet, I'll eat my underwear.

I loathe xDrive but I don't think he had DSC OFF in the rain version.

I don't care for him either.. the dude has to weigh at least 300lbs which kinda fcks with the dynamics of any car, save for maybe a Camaro, which is a pig in and of itself. But my anti-fatso reviewer comment aside, I'm not a big fan of his (air quotes) reviews.
