Let there be light.

A major upgrade from not only the existing lights in the building (which seemed to be candle burning), but the lights in our current building too. These fluorescent fixtures produce a much brighter and whiter light; a welcome change to the dingy yellow-orange cast of the previous light fixtures. This is a straight shot view down where the new manufacturing line will be, which will also then fan out at the end.

We have also sealed the flooring in most of the building. Below is a view from the back of the future R&D area up to the extra wide vehicle entrance, and more.

We didn’t stop there though, lighting in the rest of the building has been installed as the offices take shape.

Below, you’ll see a view looking into the showroom from the AWE Tuning offices. Hard to see from here, but you’ll be able to visit and see R&D, manufacturing, and the dyno, from the comfort of the lounge.

The future home of one AWE Tuning’s finest.

Amazing what a difference some lighting can make. Stay tuned, it’s starting to look like headquarters!

Taking Shape

Our new home is starting to look like the next chapter in AWE Tuning. With offices taking their final form, and our showroom getting a brand new garage door, tile flooring and giant windows all the way across.

Entrance and Showroom windows installed. There’s going to be a cool “AWE Tuning Red” cover over the main door near where the discolored block is, to protect from the elements:

This area below will soon house our sales and marketing teams, full open collaboration layout including open meeting areas.

Directly across from the sales & marketing area will be the research and engineering team, including the prototyping team. One of the challenges in our current space is a long walk between the departments. Our goal with the open layout was to increase immediate communication to speed time-to-market and innovation. Engineering area seen here:

Another must-have for us was to ensure that everyone came together at least once a day in a central chill-zone. That’s this below. A cafe-meets-break-room-meets-collaboration space, this section will be stocked with comfy seating, high-tops, a kitchen, and outdoor access. Most importantly, it’s a place for everyone to meet, whether they’ve been typing or welding all day.

A view of the showroom from the soon to be reception desk. Room for cars, people and comfort.

The glass garage door will allow visitors to see into the R&D area from the showroom, and also allow for easy placement of cars into the showroom without driving outside first.

View of some of our the offices, including extra windows up top to ensure maximum natural light.

Additional offices and break out rooms:

She’s coming together!

Right around the corner.

Our official move date is fast approaching, and with that our building isn’t just starting to look like our new home, it is our new home. As you’re reading this portions of the company are shuttling everything they need to the new space. Over the new couple weeks the entire company will slowly funnel into the new state-of-the-art facility.

Holy shiny. This is the new R&D area. Prototyping / R&D lifts coming soon.

Peering into the showroom from installations and prototyping. There will be a clear line of sight from the showroom into where the magic happens.

Below, our new showroom getting the finishing touches. It’s about 600hp and a sofa away from being home.

Another view of our showroom from the main entrance.

Looking over reception into part of the office space, from the new front desk.

Bathrooms on the left, looking back into the offices, our marketing and sales departments right up front in an open and collaborative environment.

One of the new conference rooms - will be outfitted with a big (really big) monitor and we’re in the midst of finishing a custom conference room table.

The new home of the finance team.

Quick access for our engineering team to the installations and prototyping area. Note tile runway for the FARO arm - this was an important feature as the team is frequently rolling between “cars and CAD” and the ‘arm is a key member of the R&D team.

The new engineering team area - open, well lit and ready for an easy flow between marketing, sales and this department.

One of our favorite areas, the “cafe,” which will be a central location for all fabrication, engineering, sales, marketing, finance, prototyping, shipping and admin to come together for food, breaks and collaboration.

Next up… you might even see some furniture! Thanks for following along with us, stay tuned as we update with final decor and really “make it home.”

Research and Development. Developments.

Our brand new R&D area is getting the finishing touches. A quick shot of three of the five lifts that will make up the “lab” - in close proximity to the engineering offices (just on the other side of the wall on the left).

And below, this is the “runway” for our FaroArm between the lifts and the Engineering offices, to ensure speedy scanning-to-conception.

We are quickly wrapping up all the different areas in our new headquarters - stay tuned - we’re getting close!

We’re in!

It’s official. We’re in our new space! The entire AWE Tuning organization is now in our brand new state-of-the-art facility at 199 Precision Drive, Horsham, PA 19044.

Still a ton of work to be accomplished to make it feel and look like home, but as of today:
  • Fabrication is in place and producing at 100%
  • Engineering is R&D’ing
  • Marketing is writing stuff like this
  • Sales is selling
  • Finance is adding and subtracting (and multiplying and occasionally dividing)
  • Prototyping is fitting
  • Shipping is loading
In other words, this battle ship is fully operational.

We’re still working hard on the facility so stay tuned as she keeps coming together!

Move made; making moves. A week has passed since our relocation to the new AWE Tuning headquarters, and we’re quickly settling in; it already feels like home.

We’re ready and eager to start filling our lifts with vehicles for research and development.

No rest for engineering: testing, tuning, and tinkering away.

The fabrication shop resonates with the sounds of production as our team of craftsmen work at a blurring speed to get our components in your hands. We’re taking full advantage of the new space by bringing in great talent and fine machinery to reduce all lead times.

Full steam ahead: freshly built batches of exhaust components ready to be boxed up and shipped out.

The AWE Tuning Mustang Dynamometer is in place and ready to help us extract maximum performance during development of new products. She’s looking better than ever with a fresh coat of paint.

We’re excited to personalize our new space further, next update coming next week!

We’re making good use of our new R&D lifts and fleet of in-house project cars; charging forward with new product development and testing.

You may recognize this fine machine from the lobby of our old facility, well, she’s made it to her new home. This is chassis #002 of five, Champion/AudiSport S4 Competitions. These cars were campaigned in the SpeedVision/Speed World Challenge GT race series back in 2000 thru 2002. This car participated in Michael Galati’s championship winning season in 2001, also grabbing the Manufacturers Title that same year.

There are 5 original cars still around:
1 is used for track events in the Pacific NW.
1 is owned by GMG.
1 is used in vintage racing in the SE US.
1 is owned by Audi NA and is in their collection.
And 1 is owned by us.

Today, the power plant is a 2.7L V6 with TiAL 605 turbos and Bosch engine management, with an estimated 550 bhp at the crank. Yes, we still track it!

The rack below is a staging area for several components about to be packaged up for our dealer stocking orders. In the background, you can see our .065” thick T304L stainless steel waiting to be crafted into an AWE Tuning exhaust.

New improvements are being implemented every day, we look forward to sharing them with you as we optimize further.

Good Company

Now that we are all moved in and putting the finishing touches on our new world headquarters, it was about time to bring in the big guns. So we rolled 1000 hp into our brand new showroom.

A peek back into the fabrication shop reveals one of our metal masters fabricating a performance downpipe.

Going up. This mezzanine will serve as extra storage for all of AWE Tuning.

Consistent progress: we’re moving forward quickly. More updates to come as we put our touches on the new space.

It’s a sign!

Well, the days of hoping you’ve arrived at AWE Tuning are over.

People, we’re having a good old fashioned sign-raising.

The size of this sign is…. well it’s enormous. Check this out on the trailer:

Getting this baby into place was nothing short of an art form.

Coming off the ground:

Setting ‘er into place!

And of course, the video of it all.

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a sign!

Bent into shape.

The Crippa has landed.

17,000 pounds of tube bending awesome, hell bent on efficiency, and almost ready to produce some of the most beautiful bends this side of the Crippa.

Getting this thing in was no easy task. You know we mean business when the forklift needs a forklift.

Ominous!

She’s out.

She’s in!

Chill Zone.

The AWE Tuning “cafe” has been populated with comfort! Having such amenities gives our new HQ a hub for departments to collide and socialize. There's also an outside area with seating, shade, umbrellas, and a grill. So wherever employees feel like kicking their feet up for a bit is purely up to them. Who doesn't appreciate options?

Depending on the time of day and how much coffee has been consumed, the cafe can either be the noisiest or the quietest room in the whole facility.

One thing's for certain, progress never stops.

More updates to come!

The Send-off.

A very prominent, universal concern across all the departments in our facility is the adherence to details. Little things make big things happen. In this case, it’s packaging and shipping AWE Tuning product. Throughout our moving process, our shipping department has had to maintain the standard regardless of the conditions. Now, their new stations are coming together and the shipping department is bustling!

Stay tuned!

Crippa Engage.

Our 17,000 pound bender has claimed its space in our new HQ and all systems are on the verge of getting the green light. With our fabrication team increasing by 30%, additional shipping staff, and our new machinery coming online, lead times are going to be affected by the hell-bent wrath of our Crippa in a great way!

MK4 1.8T, MK5 2.0T, MK6 Jetta 2.5 and GLI 2.0T (Touring and Track Edition), MK7 2.0T (non-catted), and B8/8.5 S4 (Touring, Track) / S5 (Touring, Track) hand-crafted systems will all be given lead times of (about) two weeks!

For those attending our 2015 BBQ & Car Show (new date!), you’ll get to tour our new HQ and see our 17,000 pound Crippa first hand (from behind the fence, of course).

More updates to come!
