Hello Guys, just got home:

Here are the pictures, as you can see I'm still missing the exhaust tips extenders. I bought a set of aftermarket exhaust tips that should be here tomorrow.

On my side, I did the following:

(A) in Estoril Blau II
(B) in Dark Shadow (same as factory diffuser)
(C) unpainted

It should be painted next week I hope...

Concerning diffuser, tips extender and MPE exhaust:

MPE exhaust pipes where you put exhaust tips are longer on MPE compared to stock one so that you can see the M logo on top of exhaust tips.

I've MPE exhaust reference to be installed without M Performance Diffuser so its pipe length should be between stock one and MPE exhaust for M Performance Diffuser.

I hope it will be OK; It's not important for me if M logo is not that visible.

To my mind, MPE exhaust for M Performance diffuser exhaust tips protrude too much in order to clear tips M logo.

Answer next week

Mine

M performance diffuser
Remus cat back exhaust

The tips sit in just a little farther than I would like, but it still looks and sounds awesome.

I'm leaving mine unpainted.

Hi quenotte,

Can you clarify my mind...

What's the outcome of the an M performance exhaust pipe (+adapter) on a stock diffuser ? Is it too lengthy or is it fine ?

Have you got a picture to show us ?

Merci !

In fact, there is an M logo on top of M Performance exhaust tips:

So in order to see the M logo, you need a longer and larger diameter exhaust pipe.

M Performance exhaust has longer and larger diameter exhaust pipes.

With factory exhaust, you need exhaust adapter to properly install M Performance tips.

Adapters:

Please note that those adapters are placed outside of stock pipe and then secured with clamps. You can notice the difference in diameter.

Thanks for your complete reply.

My new question is about the length of the new exhaust tips on the car.

With the stock exhaust tips, they are aligned with the rear diffuser and I would like to get pretty much the same result with the new M Performance exhaust tips. I don't mind if we can't see the M Perf logo and definitively, I don't want to have a very long tube a the rear of my car !!!

Do you think that we can ajust the total length of the tips ?

It will depend whether you have M Performance Diffuser or not.

I will take some photos of my car with M Performance Diffuser, M Performance exhaust (the one to be ordered if you don't have M Performance Diffuser) and M Performance exhaust tips.

I hope to have diffuser painted this week.

I am going to keep the stock diffuser... Normally, the M performance exhaust tips fits with the normal diffuser but I don't want to have long tube at the rear of my car, just beautiful stainless steel tips :-)

I am looking forward seeing some pictures of your car !

I've installed M Performance diffuser on my M235i.

It was painted as following:

( A ) in Estoril Blau II Metallic (B45)
( B ) in Dark Shadow Metallic (B27)
( C ) in matte black (not painted/as is)

I'm quite happy of the result

Ahhh I'm having mine painted today and you guys are giving me a lot to think about! Hadn't considered incorporating Dark Shadow but I think it looks amazing.

Personally, I'm thinking of leaving A and C unpainted, with B done in EBII for a more 'tuner' look.

I have the front splitter (unpainted), side splitters in matte black, carbon M Perf spoiler and tinted windows. I think the splitter with B painted suits the overall look I'm creating.

Any thoughts?

I just got some generic tips on my car in order to fix the deep look of the OEM ones after the MP diffuser upgrade, and they came out awesome, unfortunately I don't have any clean car pictures but I'll take more tomorrow.

I'm still deciding on whether to get the MP diffuser or go with a CF one. I have CF spoiler, mirror caps, and front splitters. Would it look out of place not having CF as the diffuser as well? Decisions decisions.

I just recently got my M performance diffuser painted EBII to match the rest of my car. Loving how it looks!

I am deciding on whether or not to color code the rear diffuser. I am ordering a black m235i but not sure if spending the extra money to color code it will be worth it since our dealerships charge insane amount for painting. I may just be happy with the unpainted matt black but it is hard to find any example of black m235i with the m perf diffuser.
