Sounds nice at idle. Stepping on it sounds pretty loud compared to stock. I'm trying to avoid the inside drone. Hoping I don't get any by straight piping the midpipe from Remus.

I also dont' wanna spend 2k in a system that's too quiet like my current crappy setup (stock midpipe and MPE). |

I just ordered my Remus exhaust with non resonated midpipe. Not sure when it will arrive. Hoping within the next 2 weeks. I'll keep you guys posted.

It will be a month or so before our system will be available. Our M240i exhaust is basically a hybrid of our M235i and 340i exhausts that is requiring a new fixture and some new build components before it can go to full production. Sound wise it sounds very similar to what we offer for the 340i... I think its its slightly more aggressive to my ear but the same general sound.
Offerings will be the axleback and a mid-pipe just like the 340i. |

Both Remus and Dinan are great exhaust options. Remus hit first.
I really like the Remus system because it uses the original valve actuator of the car. I don't know if Dinan are planning to install a valve in their M240's systems... BMW removed this option in the MPE. |

Yea I like that I still have the function of the actuator. I know there's quite a few people though who just open it and then disconnect so it's always open so for a lot of people, the lack of an actuator doesn't matter.

No valve on ours.
Consensus was that with just the axleback the cold start was quiet enough that the implementation of the valve wasn't needed (cold start being the valves primary purpose). Cold start is loud with the mid-pipe included but the thought was that if you want the mid-pipe your whole desire is to be louder so the valve flies in the face of that desire. =) I'm sure that reasoning doesn't work the same for everyone but that's what was decided here at least and with the polled dealers. |

The midpipe from Dinan it's going to be resonated or a straight non-resonated tube ? |

The axleback there is no drone. With the midpipe added (deleting the resonators) you do get a bit of minor feedback in a 200 RPM window below 2k but to my ears you really have to search for it. The Flowmaster folks that have drove our shop 340i always say there is no drone either but then again they have a different barometer. =)

Nope still being built I guess. I called them on Monday and it still hasn't shipped so I told them to give me the resonated midpipe instead of the race one. The VM catless DP on stock exhaust was loud enough for me so figured I should get a similar configuration to stock (resonated midpipe). It'll still be louder which is what I want, I just don't want it sounding like a v8 with no headers (doesn't sound pretty).
