Pikcachu, thanks for the additional info. I'm hoping that mine is NOT on the Figaro, since my delivery date is supposed to be 5-1 or possibly a couple of days earlier. I figure that it must take at least a week or two to clear customs at Port Hueneme, get trucked to the dealership in Orange County, and get prepped for delivery.
Since mine was built on 3-18, do you have equivalent stats for whatever was the prior ship? |

Sounds weird right but honestly I can't explain it much myself. From my research, Delivered To means it's at the VPC and if you look at the customs release, it has no quantity. It went through the VPC before customs even approved it because the car had arrived at my dealership on the 9th of April which is roughly a 1 day truck journey. |

I'm on the Lyra Leader as well. It's out of range in the Atlantic at the moment (unless you want to pay for satellite tracking). Due at the Panama Canal at 1300 PST on the 18th.

Your link seems to show it just north of Puerto Rico at the moment, so it's strange that the ETA at the Panama Canal is still 72 hours off. What color is your M235i? My 228i is Deep Sea Blue Metallic/Terra leather with the 6 speed manual. |

Hard to know how long these things take once the ship reaches Port Hueneme. My dealer is only about 90 minutes away from the port, but I bet it'll take several days to arrive and be ready for delivery. |

no more info--didn't call again--don't want to drive myself too crazy--BTW I have a GTI too--GenV. Good cars, but I want back into the BMW fold. Had a 93 325i and 99 M3 before the GTI--both great cars especially the M3.

Weirdly enough it's very likely going to be right around the estimated time at Panama it's about 950 nautical miles away at the moment, and this vessel goes about 16-17/hr. It's amazing how close, but yet so far away it is haha. I'm really curious as to what the estimate of it is to arrive at Port Hueneme is. There's about a 3000 nautical mile distance between the two, so I'm guessing 7.5-8.5 days away. I'll go with the 26th at night or 27th in the morning. |

The BMW site now says "Your vehicle is on its way." and the 800# says its in transit. Its coming to California, I thought the next ship was in a few days, possible its been transit since the last ship left last week?

The Asian Emperor docks today at Port Hueneme, but mine obviously missed that ship, despite having been built on March 18th. I think it takes a while for them to get from Leipzig to Bremerhaven and get loaded on a ship.

Your car finished March 18. That boat departed March 23. In order for you to have made that ship, you would have had to arrive to the port before March 15 or 16. So, your car didn't finish production before the cutoff date so it was impossible from the start. Vehicles must arrive to the port with all documents at least one week before a departure so they can clear customs and be prepared for loading. If they miss that cutoff by even one day, it's too late. These are hard deadlines that are set for each voyage by the port/shipping lines (not BMW) and there are no exceptions. If it actually finished on the 4th and not earlier (possible since the phone/web system is never accurate), you're not on Figaro. There could be another shipment since not 100% of them go through that same shipping line or it could just be referring to the Oberon even though it hasn't technically been loaded or departed. The only way to be 100% sure what boat is to call BMWNA or your dealer. It is the case what I said above. One week cutoffs are a fact. Nothing can just show up and get loaded. A quick phone call and you should be able to find out exactly where you car is. Maybe you could even ask for the VIN and if you get that you can use it to track your shipment here: https://att.2wglobal.com/gstattweb/o...uickSearchPage For example, my status currently by phone says that my vehicle completed production yesterday and is on its way to the port of discharge. Sounds good, except if that were the case I'd be screwed. I'm doing euro delivery in 3 weeks. The web system still says in production. The phone/web systems are not reliable. |
