Which ship is my M235i on?
Hi All,
I know there've been many posts about how long it takes from production to when a vehicle gets on a boat etc etc As most of us know it's the most frustrating thing waiting for your brand new vehicle to leave Germany and arrive at your dealership in your country. What I want to know is which boat realistically speaking do you think my vehicle will be transported on? BMW doesn't have an answer for me as they only get the name of the ship once the vehicle is loaded onto it... So I've narrowed it down to 3 ships based on my current BMW timeline. Faust - Left 4th September (Highly Unlikely As My Car Finished Production On 2nd September) Elektra - Leaving 16th September (Hoping - But doesn't tie up with BMW's timeline) Tosca - Leaving 1st October (Really? A month at port? - Close to BMW's timeline...) According to BMW's timeline: Production Complete - 2nd September 2015 VDC - 28 October 2015 Price Month (Dealer Arrival) - 11 November 2015 I think the VDC & Dealer arrival are a bit far out what are your thoughts? Sorry for the longish post but kinda pulling teeth here not knowing which ship it's on... Oh btw my BMW dealer usually ships from Breamerhaven to Durban port. Thanks In Advance Last edited by Avian; 09-05-2015 at 10:13 AM.. |

Well actually you/anyone could speculate and guess...and probably would be wrong. And it is not unrealistic to have a car sit for many days until loading. It's a gobal shipping thing they have going...lots of cars and countries. It can sit for some time.
My best counsel: sit back...wait till it is loaded, [which you have to do anyway] get confirm from dealer and then track and enjoy to cruise. Anything else, while fun to think about is really only a guess. Good luck and happy sightings along the route. |

Certainly not the Faust.
Kind of a swing at the other two, I'd guess the Tosca. A month at the port is not out of hand, although mine was at the port for only a week before getting on a ship, but took a week to get to the port. The ball may break your way, though. The trip for mine was: Ordered 3/12 On the line on 3/27 Off the line 4/8 Released to carrier 4/10 In transit to the port of exit 4/14. At the port 4/15 On a ship 4/22 Off the boat in NJ on 5/7 At my dealer 5/13 Pickup 5/14 The whole trip here: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=831854 The full tracking story here:

It was the same story. I apparently typed one line, grabbed the link, inserted it ahead of the description, then wondered why I didn't have a description and typed it again.

Ummmm... Why are you guessing when you can find out for certain?
https://www.2wglobal.com/webapps?url...uickSearchPage Enter the last 7 of your VIN into cargo ID Then use ship tracking software and watch your ship cross the ocean . |
