Lufthansa ED Airfare Discount Percentage

Has anyone taken advantage of the BMW Special offer with Lufthansa - Discounted Travel for European Delivery Buyers? The Terms and Conditions only says discounts vary off the base fare and are dependent on booking class. I am looking for the discount percentage for premium economy, but if you know another fare discount, please share.

If you need to book direct and require a full fare ticket, then it's worth asking them about the discount. That makes it much more expensive than booking a ticket through Orbitz. You can get up to 15% off the fare if booked direct, but even a change fee on a discounted ticket would be cheaper than a full fare ticket with a discount of 15%.

We booked our trip last week, and the discount % seemed to be all over the place depending on what flights and dates you choose. Our discount was more than 30% compared to what the same exact itinerary would've cost without the discount code. But, at least in our case, the discount percentage was meaningless because the fare we would've paid without the discount code was not competitive, both relative to other itineraries available on Luftansa, and also other airlines. I would say the fare we ended up with was competitive, but it certainly was not the least expensive. Other airlines had fares that were a bit ( no more than $100) less, but in our case their exact itinerary did not fit our needs. And of course if you are looking to save, you should be comparing baggage and other fees in addition to fare itself. Another tip… If you belong to a frequent flyer program, don't forget what the miles you earn on your airline or a partner airline for a long trip like this could be worth. I belong to United mileage plus, and when making these types of decisions as a rule of thumb I figure that every thousand miles I earn are worth $10-$15. Final comment… I travel an extensive amount for business, and at least for me google flights is the easiest site for finding airfare savings without looking at ridiculous connections.
