Glovis Courage and Virgo Leader (Was: Sittin' by the Dock of the Bay...)
...waiting for a ship. Any other NA West Coasters have their car sitting at the port waiting for a ship?
I _think_ the car might end up on the Glovis Courage, but don't really know. "Order the car" they said. "You'll get it just like you want it," they said. No one talks about the weeks of sleepless anticipation, the relentless checking of web sites and calling of 800 numbers. I now see how this freakin' web site got its name. Mine is on the way to the docks, ended production last Friday. I haven't poked into the system any more than that yet to figure out the ship.

Let's hope our cars make it on to the Glovis Courage. She is now in port. In the pic below, you can barely make out the "Glovis" on the side of the closest ship. But, the link below is a live feed, so it may disappear soon.
Edit: As of 6/26, the ship is gone. Here is the link for anyone else who might want to look for their carrier in Bremerhaven: http://blg.webcams.neostage.de/webca...s.com/cam2.jpg DBinOC Last edited by DBinOC; 06-27-2015 at 06:43 PM.. |

I am betting that we are both on the Glovis Courage. That's the only ship I can find...my status according to the 800 number is "in transit" as of this morning (Pacific time) and that ship just left Bremerhaven last night (German time) with scheduled stops for the West Coast.
The Glovis Courage is currently on its way to Belgium. It should be going through the Panama Canal on 7/13. <fingers crossed> DBinOC |

My status on the 800 number is still showing on the dock and waiting, but that could still be old data (depending upon how they do their data entry/updates) or I may have missed the boat. It is what it is (I'm also trying to track an X3 out of Charleston, which seems to be a tougher nut to crack, that is at the same status - the race is on between the Leipzig and Spartanburg teams!)

That would be a little bit of a bummer, CalRick. Looks like they next carrier for the west coast doesn't leave Bremerhaven until July 11.
An X3 and an M235i? Nice! DBinOC |

It looks like there's another sailing on 7/3 on the NYK Triton Leader, getting into PH on 7/30, then there's the WW line Asian Vision sailing 7/11 and getting into PH on 8/5, and then another NYK ship on 7/17 (hopefully we aren't waiting that long!) Between NYK and WW, there seems to be a west coast run about every week.

I think my car was completed after yours and made it to the GLOVIS COURAGE. I used
https://www.2wglobal.com and put in last 7 of my VIN (you can ask your CA for this number) into the cargo ID after clicking track. It states that the car arrived at port on 6/29, but the ship left on 6/27. From reading other posts, people said that "arrival to port" is not always correct, so hopefully my car made it on the boat. |

Same for me. Tracking my VIN lists my car booked to Glovis Courage, car arrived 6/29 but ship sailed 6/26? Not sure what to think. ETA to CA is 7/22 which would follow my expected timeline.

Hello roomies!
I made it onto the Glovis courage as well! 2016 BMW M6 Coupe Frozen black exterior Opal white full merino leather 6 speed manual transmission Gonna be a lonngggg 3 weeks or so I did notice that we ALL (and by all I mean 1700 or so vehicles on the ship) were "loaded" on the ship at 12:40 pm yesterday (looked up both the booking number and bill of lading number in addition to my individual vin) so I honestly think that in all actuality- we were loaded on or before the 26th (my car finished the quality check on the 19th) but the system lagged on updating.

Huh. Based on the timing, I fully expect that I am on the Glovis Courage, but when I use the 2wglobal site to try to track the last 7 of my VIN, it comes up empty. <shrug>
Zeebrugge today, Southampton tomorrow. July is going to feel like a very long month. DBinOC |

Maybe try entering the complete VIN? And make sure you plug it into the Cargo ID box. If it's on a boat, I would think it should be listed.

FWIW, I called BMW regarding the ED car that I dropped off in Munich last Friday. They told me it's booked for the Asian Vision, departing Bremerhaven on 7/11.

It looks like the Leader is getting in at the same time as the Courage (the 22nd), so even if our cars can't party on the way across, they may still be able to knock down a few together at the VDC.

As long as we all get here on the 22nd, that's what matters. Gloves courage is about to hit the UK today then off to the west coast!
