What am I missing?

BMW generally speaking says 6-8 weeks to order a vehicle

Seems like most all cars are right around that mark

Have no production number or VIN on mine, ordered July 23. Supposed to be delivered in October, but that seems more unlikely every day. Even if it is, that will be 12-14 weeks.

oooops....that sucks....sorry

Where is the issue?

Do you know what date the dealer entered the order?

A lot of them only enter orders at certain points in the month

That certainly doesnt account for 17 weeks but.....

I ordered from the dealer on June 18th. Order was confirmed by AG July 3rd. I got the production number early August (my dealer likely knew before that, but didn't tell me). Production ended 9/5. It got to the port on 9/13, so it just missed the ship that left that same day; that set me back a full week to 9/20. It's due to get to NY on 10/5. From there, figure 5-7 days to get to MA, but due to timing (work schedule), I will not be able to pick it up until 10/15.

And there you have 17 weeks!

That just sounds like a fustercluck at every step of the order

Dealer blew 2 weeks getting the order in
A week blow on missed boat

uuugh that would drive me a bit nutty

Status of my 240 just changed from "In Production" to "Production Ended." Any idea how long it typically takes from this step until delivery?

When I bought my M235i it went into production on 10-5, arrived in NJ on 11-4 and was at my dealer in MN on 11-13.

I ordered my M240i last Monday, 9-19. I have a production # and it is scheduled for production in week 42, October 17th.

Hopefully have it before Thanksgiving.

it's sounding more and more like this may be a dealer issue...either CAs aren't on top of ordering or some dealers (bigger ones I would guess) get their order built first...or a combination of both...

I've been waiting for my 230 since July. Every date has been wrong and been pushed back. I'm looking at over 12 weeks. Anyone is LA get 230 or 240's?

Just got a call from my dealer telling me my 240 has been delayed for 3 weeks, putting delivery in the 3rd week of November, 17 weeks from the order date. He cited "parts shortages" but could give no more details. There may be something to this 240 delay thing. Mine is an MT convertible. Wonder if either of those things is relevant?

Of course, this happened just hours after I sold my old car.

Has anyone asked for and received any compensation for a delivery delay?

I ordered on July 6 and mine was finished with production on Sept. 20. I think the ED makes it priority though.

I have the same question. They gave me a eta and were not able to follow through. Keeps getting pushed back. My guy said hey would get them to do it by Friday, if nothing happens I will be upset.

For what it's worth - M240i order placed on 9/8. Vehicle in production status with an ECD of 10/13.
