Just keep asking for a nicer car each time they delay it, that way you get some positive enjoyment out of the loaner.
A 320? What am I, a peasant! etc. Hopefully though this is an abnormality and not a thing for all N55 guys to be concerned about. I would also be very interested in what they deem the root cause. |

No news yet on what they are going to do. That worries me.

Update: my dealership got approval. New engine on order coming from Germany. ETA on completion is around January 26th. They have convinced me the car is worth keeping.
I am very happy that BMW stood behind the product and I'm sure it will be a costly repair for them. However, It reinforces why we have and had several BMW's throughout our family (my brother included). I remain a big fan despite the fact I am the only one in the family that doesn't drive one...well, not as a daily drive...I just fill them up and service them.

I agree, you should definitely keep the car. Everything that's broken is going to be replaced and you already paid a good portion of the depreciation. I think it's the right move.
To be honest, there is nothing wrong with my car but I wouldn't mind it if BMW replaced the motor at 30k miles for me |

Weird question about the odometer reset, and not even sure why you thought that may be a possibility. (The warranty sticks with the car for obvious reasons)
A new engine does not negate the fact the entire vehicle has the mileage that it does. |

Budd's are usually a good bunch, even with Dinan gear installed. They've always looked out for me when it counted. Glad you didn't run into any major roadblocks with the replacement. Sorry about the trouble though, agreed it's a pain even though you're not out of pocket.
