That is absolutely an option for me. I've always wanted to go to Germany, and whats better than saving money and doing it?

Probably would have kept it longer, but I totaled it. As for the Subaru dealer experience, I would also give it 2nd place (behind BMW) for friendly, courteous and professional sales and service people - and I'm talking about a lot of vehicles and dealers over the past 40+ years.

If you have researched this you may know there things...
But the S3 is automatic only. Which for me is an automatic turn off. The Golf-R (which is basically the same engine) has a MT option for 2016. But...it's a station wagon so that's not for everyone (including me). Another thing about the S3 is that the sunroof retracts OUTSIDE of the car. You know like the old Pontiac Grand Am's. It looks completely cheap to me. That is another thing that turned me off. The S3 is on paper a little pocket-rocket. But it's the little things that turned me off. The S4 (if optioned right) can be had for $50,000 BRAND NEW. I like that better than the S3 or Golf-R. And more classy and "mature" than the 235i. But that's my opinion.

Do you have the XT? The turbo lag in my SUV is very noticeable and the paint is bad. It's not just me.

My comments were more to the fit/finish and dealer experience. May she rest in peace.

No turbo on my Crosstrek either. But, it's a great rush-hour/commuter/Costco car and will be great in winter with the Bridgestone KO2 all terrain snowflake tires now on year-round. Don't really care much about the paint, other than it's orange! Not going to Opticoat this one...it will be lucky to see some wax once or twice a year! I wonder how many BMW folks have a commuter/beater/winter car and if Subie shows up more often than among the general population.

Hmmm.. I have the premium and the fit and finish is not "premium"
Here are some examples: My visor busted, my center console "basket thing" pretty much fell apart. The USB port crumbled. My Dealer: I have a minor engine issue... according to the dealer I have a CAI (its stock) that does not seal properly (not sure why i wasn't replaced) so it sounds like a vacuum when its pulling air. They told me to tightened it when I hear it. Then I bring it in to have a broken back window replaced (my landscaper shot at rock with weed wacker) they replaced the window and didn't replace the weather strip. The reason was that I didn't let them know. I own or have owned Ford, Chevy, Audi, BMW, Mazda, Saturn, Toyota, and Subaru. Unfortunately Subaru has been the worst for me and I'm not a complainer. Don't mean to sidetrack this thread or come across like a Subaru hater I've just had a bad experience with my purchase. I should of leased it. |
