I often tell people that my local shopping plaza's parking lot (in San Francisco) is like a showroom for Germany's latest and greatest... but I've seen only one... an Estoril Blue m235i.

Yeah, I have yet to see a 2 in the wild. I don't drive a ton, and I've already gotten multiple honks + thumbs ups from random people. Kinda fun to be in a relatively rare car.

I've never seen a single M235i or 228 on the road here in Los Angeles. And Im driving from Laurel Canyon to Culver City everyday (through West Hollywood and Beverly Hills).

I don't think I've seen any on the road in my area, either.

Isn't that a bid odd? The 2-series is supposed to be a fairly high volume model, isn't it? I mean, it's not like it's an i8!

I haven't seen one in Orlando outside of the dealership until this week. On Tuesday I saw an AW Msport 228i, and on Wednesday I saw a EB M235i on 535 in the Windermere/Winter Garden area as I was pulling out of my neighborhood.

I live in a major Metropolitan area - NYC - aside from my car, I saw another 2 on the way to the MetLife stadium for the Ultimate Driving event, I was driving my previous E90 there.
I saw a new M4 in Austin Yellow metallic near the Times Sq though.

I hadn't seen a single one until the day I took delivery of my 228. On the way home from the dealer I saw another AW similar to mine in the lane next to me. I kid you not.

Haven't seen another one since. Very surprising since my office parking garage is basically a Wide World of German Cars lot.

Actually the 2 series is very low volume, the ytd sales project out to 6,000 units for the year in the US. Sales ytd are pretty flat with the 1 series. I attribute this to no inventory at retail but I don't understand why. I know they geared up the i3 in the same factory but you can't sell product if there is no inventory. I think they may sell as many convertibles as coupes since entry level BMW convertibles always are big sellers and the 4 series conv got really expensive.

I have seen just one other 228i on the road here in DC -- a town where BMWs reign supreme!

Well, I guess the apparent few of us who are lucky enough to own a 2-series can enjoy the relative rarity of the car while we can. Mine draws stares everyday. Even a late model M3 driver gave my car a long look-over a few days ago. Heh! This ain't no Mustang!

One MW M235i in the parking garage where I work, one BSM M235i on the highway and one EBII M235i (at least I think it was) passed me around North Hills.

I've never seen another in Rhode Island...

People are scared of rear wheel drive cars up here....as soon as the x-drives show up I'm sure I'll see a ton....it's the same story with the 1 series...you never see them here.

A colleague of mine also has an M235i, so I see his in the office garage almost every day. Other than that, I've only seen about 2 228s here in SW CT.

It was the same with the E82 in 2008. First two years, I saw almost no other 1 series on the road. It took about 2-3 years before I started seeing them with some regularity (relatively speaking).
