Color choices

Is it just me or does it bother any one else that 228i has more color choices than the M235i?

I like my EB but some of the choices the 228i has that the M235i doesn't are killer colors.

Yes, however, I suspect some of them will be on the "M2". You can't help but think that Valencia Orange being on a 228 in NON M-Sport only is a key indicator they don't want anything orange and sporty to confuse with what will likely be the M2.

The moment you try to make a 2 series sporty, VO is unavailable.

Well, not entirely true.

You can still get Valencia Orange with the Sport Line.

I just wish you could get Jet Black on the 228i M Sport.

And what about not being able to get the black/oyster combination for interior of M235i? Is it really that hard to do?

Williewonkerz - I understand your logic but disagree with BMW's decision if that's in fact the case. I have always been a huge fan of exclusive S colors for Audi, M for bMW, etc. If it were up to me Valencia and maybe even Estoril would be M only. What they are doing now with the "mid level" M235 having fewer options than the 228 just makes zero sense. Not hating on the 228 folks, I don't think they should have fewer color options than 235 necessarily but for the opposite to be true, namely spending $10k more on a car and having fewer choices, just rubs me the wrong way.

It's the Internet so I'm talking completely out of my buttocks but I'm like you, I cannot fathom their thinking either.

I just get this feeling they don't want msport cars and m235 to have M colors unless it's an MCar.

But again, it's my arse, and the interwebz

In this case More means Less. From a marketing perspective, how do fewer choices or non-exclusive choices for exterior and interiors colors motivate people to move up? Doesn't make sense.

The limited color choices is just another reason I will keep my 135i and not consider a M235i. The real deal killers are the electric assist power steering, no way to get rid of the I-drive and no oil or coolant temperature gauge. What I really miss is my 2000 323Ci. Real tires standard, a dipstick and a full size spare tire on an alloy wheel. Call me a luddite if you want, but the 323Ci was an Ultimate Driving Machine. The 135i became close when I ditched the run-flats but the 323Ci was better.

BMW has not changed anything, there are less color options on "all" M Sport BMW's. Bought a 2013 X1 M Sport and there were 5 color choices total so they didn't just come up with this idea for the M235.

I think the blue, white, and grey look great on the car, but it is a bit frustrating.

There are a couple of ways around that, like the electronic steering wheel.

My point exactly, you have to purchase something to get what was standard on the 135i (oil temperature gauge).

Until they bring out some M sport only colours (carbon black on the 1 coupe for example)
