if otd is 46k and residual is 58% which is 26.7k, you're financing $19,320 of the car's worth over three years, which is $536 per month with zero money factor or taxes. so basically interest + taxes adds $100 to his monthly payment, meaning that if taxes are 9%, there's your $585 already, so he's paying about $50 a month in interest for the car. if you did a 5k down payment, you'd probably be looking at the $400s range before taxes and that's pretty reasonable for a 50k car. |

I agree. Not bad for a high tax rate and no money down at all. I put down $1,200 or $1,400 on my car. It was not the greatest residual (I think 59%) for 10k miles/36 months. All in...my monthly is $565 or $570 (something around there). I rolled over $200 from my previous car and I think the purchase price was around $41,500 plus taxes. Not the absolute greatest deal but I didn't do any MDF's (I should have but didn't want to have $5k caught up for a few years...but I'll do it next time as it's worth it). On a lease - you never want to put any more cash down other than first month and fees. All the ad's that request $4k+ down for a lease are terrible deals. Read up on the F30 and F80 M3 site to understand the math for a lease - there are really good threads on there discussing this topic in full. The real answer is what do you feel comfy with in terms of payment? If you can swing it and feel like it's worth it when you find the right car...that's the right deal. There will always be someone on the forums with a cheaper monthly payment...but you have to understand everything regarding the lease to see if it's a solid deal: residuals, MSRP & Sale Price, money factor, down payment, taxes, etc... |

So 45.7k OTD excl taxes right?
I mean, you're including the taxes in the payment, not in this 45.7? I'm just wondering how deep discount I can get if I order a mostly bare bone M240i. In april ish I was getting 5-7% off without much haggle. |

Any possible way someone could get a lease payment of $587/month on a car negotiating down to a $51k all in for 10k/year of miles and for 36 months w/a $1k down payment at close.
When I do my calculating you'd need all in price to be closer to $44k - $45k total financed. This is just an inquiry to see if another forum poster is giving out bogus info or not. Maybe I'm missing something and don't want to come off as a jerk if there's some method to his numbers. Thanks

To get to $587 it looks more like 3K down including first month payment. |

33 month residual for 10k is 66% now. Just did 12k for 65% on my new convertible. That combined with 14% off on a fully loaded car made it VERY compelling. 2016 rates are way better than 2017.
