Getting enough torque on bolts for DIY guys
Hello Team,
Quick question for all your DIY mechanics without a lift. I am doing some repairs that require turning bolts to their set torque level then adding 90 degree turn (wishbone, wheel bearing). With the car on jack stands I am unable to get enough leverage on my torque wrench/breaker bar to complete that extra 90 degree turn. How did you all solve this issue? Thanks, |

Why aren't you able to? I haven't come across a situation where I was not able to do so.
As for a wheel bearing, put the car back on the ground with its wheel on before the final torque.

The instructions call for the suspension to be at ride height before torque bolts. To do that (i dont have a lift) i put the car on ramps, that gave me enough room to get torque but not that 90 degree extra.
