My Euro Delivery Thread- 228i, 428i, M235i

I finally got around to editing some pictures and create a thread. It's been long overdue. Most pix were taken with a Canon 6D and 17-40mm lens. Some pictures were taken with my iPhone 5S. You could kind of tell when I got lazy and don't care about editing some of them. lol

Anyhow, here goes...

I took my parents, younger brother, my gf, and went with two friends on the trip. My brother works for AA and for some reason they don't have a direct flight into Munich, so we flew into Zurich instead.

Day 1: The flights were pretty booked but my brother was able to get me on a flight to NY (First Class) and then to Zurich (Business Class). It was pretty cool! I have flown Business Class on Cathay before and it's pretty much the same as Business and First on AA. Anyhow, I arrived in Zurich and had the day to myself.

I bought a day tram pass from the tourist info booth and took the tram to the Renaissance Hotel (about 10 minutes away from the airport). After freshening up, I took the train to Luzern and explored the city. I sat among the people and had a beer by the lake. I also made friends with Marco who lives in a city just outside of Zurich. Luzern was be-a-u-tiful.

Day 2: The rest of the group arrived. I met them at the airport and back to the hotel we went. After resting for a bit, we took the tram to central Zurich and explored around. Saw a Mercedes bearing my name. lol

We were all hungry and saw a seafood store so we went in there to get some sandwiches. My buddy, who doesn't eat seafood, went to a nearby Burger King and got a meal for $18. Switzerland was very clean and beautiful but it sure was expensive.

That night we went back to the airport to eat at the airport. We were checking out what they offered and saw that they had Pho, for $20 a bowl...most things were about to close so our options were limited.

Day 3-6: Took the bus Allgau Airport Express to Munich. If you buy tickets in advance (even a week ahead), it would only cost 15E per person. It's one of those coach buses so there's plenty of room. The ride was comfortable and the view was nice. It's definitely a lot cheaper than train which is about 60E.

The first day we tried going to Dachau but the guy at the tourist info. booth forgot to let us know that the S2 train to Dachau is at the top platform on weekends. He told us that it was underground. We basically ended up at some terminal and wasted quite a bit of time. We ended up exploring Marienplatz for the rest of the day instead.

We went to the Hoffbrauhaus that night for some food (pork knuckle for me) and some beer. The pretzel girls were pretty cute. We liked the brunette one better though. Everyone there was very friendly and chill. We drank and took pictures with some people from the UK as well as some from the US.

The next day we tried Dachau again. The place is definitely something else. It's a little creepy yet very interesting. It gave us a better perspective on what was going on back then. After Dachau we toured the Residenz. I actually enjoyed it much more than the Palace of Versailles.

The third day was delivery day. We took a short subway ride to the Welt (Olympia Park stop). It was a very cool experience. Everyone in the group was impressed with the whole thing. So much so that my gf told me she would like to come back in about 2 years and do ED for an M2. The last time I did ED it was at the old place. I went in May and the Welt opened up in October. Needless to say, the experience this time was much better than the previous one.

We met with Jasmine (beautiful gal) who went over all the paperwork with the three of us at the same time. We then met up with the other people of our party in the Premium Lounge for a quick breakfast. After that we met up with a delivery specialist (I forgot his name but will insert it here when I remember). He went over all of the pre-delivery stuff such as the simulator.

We then met up with two other specialists to have our separate deliveries. Max delivered the 228i and Christof (sp?) delivered the 428i. I stayed with the original specialist. Not sure about the others but mine was pretty thorough going over the features with me, especially the new navigation system. Afterwards, Max and Christof fired up the 1M safety car and we did our victory laps (2 to be exact).

We valet parked our cars and went to the factory tour. After that we got our engraved keychains as well as bought some souvenirs. We jetted over to the BMW Museum for a quick look around and headed to Rothenburg. We did the Night Watchman Tour and thought it was okay. I couldn't hear him most of the time so it was just alright to me. It started sprinkling after our delivery so it got a bit chilly that night. After the tour we had dinner at one of the restaurants in Rothenburg and headed back to Munich.

I didn't remember Rothenburg being so far away from the previous trip. Nonetheless, it was a pretty nice drive. We just got the cars so we took it easy and never exceeded 100 mph that day.

Lol. I thought about posting a picture of her but decided not to. I didn't want her picture to be plastered all over the internet. Not saying you, but others might.

Thank you! That was my second time doing ED. The first time we were only there for about 4-5 days. I promised myself that the next time it would be for at least two weeks. I forgot about this thread so I didn't update it. The rest of the pictures are below.

Here are the pictures of delivery day. In the midst of the excitement, I didn't take that many pictures of our cars.

Day 7-9: We left Munich on day 6 and got to Salzburg, Austria that night. Due to traffic, what should have been about a 90 minute drive turned into about a 3-4 hour drive. Yuck.

We walked around the old town that night and ate at Saint Peter's. It was supposedly the oldest restaurant in the world. The food was expensive and wasn't all that great.

We drove to Hallstatt the next morning. It was beautiful!! We did the salt mine tour as well. We went back to Salzburg that afternoon and spent the rest of the time exploring the old town and the fortress. Next day we left Salzburg for Fussen to visit Neuschwantein and Hohenschwangau. After touring the castles, we drove to Lermoos, Austria to spend the night. Lermoos is a small little ski resort town. Although it was small, the town has a lot of charms. The place we stayed at was spacious, clean, and comfortable. We booked one for 4 people and it had two rooms! I highly recommend the place (see pictures below).

Hallstatt- so beautiful it is worth mentioning again and again. If you guys do ED and will be in the Salzburg area, be sure to make time for Hallstatt. Even though it was raining, we still had a blast!!

It was pretty awesome because as we parked, a 1M pulled up and parked next to us (right next to my M235i)!! It was an epic coincidence.

Day 9- Fussen- Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau. Of course we had to do the obligatory castle shot.

Edit: something wrong with the site, can't upload pix. Will continue later.
