New Order Help Please
So I am ordering a M235I (wanted X drive for Germany until i realized it was Auto only). Just going to get some Winter tires and roll with it.
Specs are as follows. M235I Estoril Blue /or/ Melbourne Red MT Drivers Assistance Tech Package Harmon/Kardon (unsure if its worth it) Moonroof deleted Heated Front Seats $44,415.00 First I am living in Germany for the next 2 years. The question I have is the value of The premium Package or lack thereof since I will be trading this in a year from now for a M2 or M3 depending on how i like the 2 series and how the M2 comes out (dealer guaranteed buyback). I am coming from a 435X Drive and I liked the sensatech , probably in the minority, but i could barely tell the difference between it and leather. As such i assume its the same feel for these as it was in my 4 series. I have never had comfort access or paid attention to auto dimming. Thoughts on it? Im pretty sure im going to pass but i want to cover all the bases before finalizing. Hell the only reason I am getting the tech package is the upgraded instrument clusters and somewhat for the Nav since i thought it worked wonderful in my 4. I do have a portable GPS though. Does the Speed display digitally on the clusters? So i can see it in KM when I change it over? Thank for the help. Eric |

Skip premium, get the enhanced bluetooth though. Not sure if you ever talk on the phone while driving, but it bothers me so freaking much seeing people in expensive cars using their handsets to talk while driving. Cheap bastards couldn't get the bluetooth option??? haha

Don't quote me but I thought the m235 had the handle lights standard. But the only reason I got the prem package was for the auto dim mirrors on my 235 order. I have them on my 328xi and they are an awesome feature IMO

I have a 228 with M/T and had a similar debate. I went back and forth comparing options and prices before deciding to go cheaper now for the possibility of going M2 sooner rather than later.
I skipped out on both Prem and Tech packages. If you don't mind black, the sensetec is great. I would like the comfort access and mirrors, but it seemed too much to pay. I never even considered the tech package. My iPhone works just fine for navigation, which is the bulk of the cost of the package. As far as blue tooth goes, it is a standard feature. The one luxury item I did want was the upgraded stereo. People mentioned in the stereo thread that the bass is fairly lacking (which I would agree with), but I still think the overall sound quality is great. It just doesn't hit that hard unless you really turn it up. No regrets for me on picking it over the stock option. |

You're right. I got on a soap box. What I meant to say is if you opt out of the navigation, the enhanced Bluetooth helps because you can have the audio of your navigation apps over the speakers.
