You'll have to pay install if not done at port so factor that in when you are shopping around. Would be a couple hours labor at $200 each I would assume.

Looking at the BMW website, it's not apparent whether the tips are $100 EACH or for $100/PAIR. I was told by JustinCredible that his tips shipped in pairs. The person at the dealership I'm ordering from didn't know, though the screen she sent me appears to express 2 tips as well. I don't want to get accidentally charged for an extra $100 f they ship in pairs.

Can anyone else confirm?

I believe it is $100 a tip, so $200 for the set.

For what it's worth, I have the performance exhaust on my E92 M3, I did ED, it only got installed at the port.

Customs cleared: 10/24/2011, released to trucking: 10/28/2011, dealer delivered: 11/1/2011.

I'd agree that the exhaust is largely about sound, though I recall seeing some YouTube movies showing slight gains on the dyno. Probably helps it breathe a tad better but likely not noticeable via seat-of-the-pants.

Hmm, that's interesting. I was told by my dealer that since I'm doing ED, I can not get any M Performance parts installed at the port and thus can't get any parts factored into the lease.

Can anyone clarify this for me?

You should still be able to get those parts installed and added, it would just be factored into the MSRP of the car. They would be installed when the car lands at port.

Right. This is what I'm trying to do.

The dealer is telling me since I'm getting ED it goes to a different port where it's not possible to get M Performance parts installed.

If this is not the case, I'm going to be extremely pissed off

If you can head over to your dealer and ask him to pull up the build section for your car and go to the VIA options area in the dcs. You'll know then if you can or can't, but I don't think there is a special ED port, they all go through the same one depending on your region.

I emailed my dealer about getting black kidney grilles and front splitter port installed. He replied I can get it when the car arrives.

It seems to be something new with the configuration when flagged for ED. No one is sure if it is an error or a new policy. It has nothing to do with what port the car goes to. In southern California all our cars go to the same vehicle delivery center.

Hopefully things are clarified before you need to sign and pay for your car. I am also looking at maybe adding some M Performance parts to a lease, but I don't think I will if they can't be residualized.

You could try sending an e-mail or phone up the BMW ED service department in New Jersey.
