I'm not remotely (pun intended) important enough to worry about CIA or the like killing me with this method, LOL just kidding.

coding can be done remotely but you still need a windows pc plugged into your car, then some conferencing software so someone else can control your pc then recode the car. A faff but possible.

i think the fancier tyre sensors will only work on the tech pack screen as thats the screen width that displays it etc etc.

Awesome! Tom is great when it comes to coding the car to your liking, I'll be taking mine there right away as soon as it comes in. Was there an option to code out the amber turn signal being on all the time?

$90 for full coding looks like a great price. I'm still getting the software installed on the laptop. By the time you buy a cable and get a token for the ESYS software you are already $90 or more in. The only advantage is you can do other cars and change your own options back and forth as needed.

The remote coding takes your own laptop and a cable from the laptop plugged into your car . The coder just shares your laptop and does the coding from there. It's not like they can just remote code wireless or something. You give they person access.

I know some of the remote coders use the free software package, TeamViewer to help with coding. They on the other had have to buy it for big money so they are just trying to offset their software costs to those needing help.

Exactly what the coder used (team viewer) when coding my friends 335 to add enhanced blue tooth.

I do see in the E-SYS software settings there is a way to establish a wireless link for connections also. Probably for BMW exclusive use, but maybe also used by the expert coders too .

Anyone able to recommend a place in Philadelphia, or at least offer some advice on how to research a good place?

email okee at codemycar@gmail.com.

He just coded my m235i remotely last night, and was SUPER easy to deal with and the price was very fair. A flat fee for all the options you want. He also offers lifetime re-coding free of charge as long as you own the vehicle.

That's not a problem, Brings wanted to keep the amber.

Congrats on the M235i - looks like I'll see seeing you shortly! Keeping the E60M5?

Sorry, I probably missed this, but is there a list somewhere of all the available coding options for the M235i and what they do (if it's not obvious)?

Can the windows be coded to open/close with the Key FOB. I have a module I installed in my current 135i that all i do is hold the lock button 3 sec then release and all windows (sunroof too) will close. Unlock button for opening. It was a great feature as i could close the windows while walking away from my car and open them as i was approaching. Helped vent the hot air in the summer months. Even if it was just a few seconds before getting in.
I even used it from my office as i could see my car and could open and close them to let some air in. You can even stop the open or close process by hit the key fob button again.

here is an example. -Key FOB open/close windows

Yes, mine does this now after I had it remotely coded.

When the car locks, either comfort access or key fob, the side mirrors fold in. I can open or close all windows/sunroof with key fob. Watch DVD, iPhone, or USB video while in motion, all disclaimers removed, no speed limit for rear view camera, amber corner lights disabled unless as turn signal...maybe a few more I missed.

I'm amazed that the car can play mkv's natively from a USB while driving too. Why would BMW put that much effort into the head unit, just to disable it???

The resolution to convert the video in handbrake is 1280x480 and looks great.

I'll try to take a video of the features I had added when I get home.

that is good to know. Do you have to hold the key fob button or is it like in the video example. I really don't want to have to hold the button and stay close to the car waiting.

I think you have to hold it the whole time. Haven't really messed with it to that level of detail. I'll check that when I get home.

It is Florida, if the sunroof stays open, it will rain in 3 minutes or less.

Went out this morning and did some more coding on the M235i. Now have the digital speedometer displayed on the BC screen, auto unlock the doors when I turn the car off (no more double pull on the handle), changed the startup logo on the BC screen from the M235i logo to the "M Performance". A lot more to do so I'm doing them only a few at a time.

I see a code (written German as most are) that referred to oil temperature. Will try and search the Internet on this code to see if this can be added to the BC or not.
