Post Vessel California Highway is Underway

I'm ecstatic to report that the K-Line vessel "California Highway" departed Bremerhaven Germany on March 03, 2015. I'm excitedly tracking this ship for a good reason. If your car is on this ship and your tracking your new BMW as well please join in.

Prior to tracking the vessel I successfully checked the status of my car's production via BMW's toll free number: 800-831-1117, then select option #2 for vehicle production status. I also signed up for a MyBMW account on BMW's website. I recommend creating a MyBMW account if you haven't already done so.

I'm keeping my eye on this ships every move. My new Glacier Silver M235i is on this ship

This has been a long process that has proven to be a lot of fun. A special thanks to my fellow 2Addicts forum members for making this so much fun. You guys rock

Congrats! It's a relief to have it out to sea, isn't it? What's the estimated transit time to Houston?

(Funny name for a vessel that doesn't have California on its schedule!)

There you go ! The fun begins

Yeah, they should call it the Houston Highway ! There's a nice alliteration ... yeah, I haven't forgotten my figures of speech !

Anyway, congrats bud ! And, we're all here to support you ... at least till we get our cars and forget about the rest of the world ...

You're off to good start. It's interesting to see how different the California Highway's track is. The Oregon Highway took a diversion to Belgium then a scenic southern route by Spain and the Azores. You guys are going straight as an arrow to Baltimore.

Yes it's a relief to know it's finally on its way yet the anticipation grows stronger
I'm anticipating it arriving at my dealer 10-14 days after departure in Baltimore

I'm curious to see how often we're on here after we take delivery of our much anticipated BMW M235i's

Off to a good start at a blazing average speed of 16.9 knots (19 MPH)
Don't get me wrong, I'll take the ferrying speed of 19 MPH as oppose to sitting on the dock waiting for a ship

To everyone who's waiting for their ship to come in

The Dallas guys had their cars come in at Brunswick. Is your port listed at Baltimore? I'm just curious if BMW shifts ports for inland deliveries based on volumes.

Even though I live in NW Houston. I ordered my car through a dealer in Beaumont Texas, 107 miles east of Houston. That may have something to do with it but then I am just "grasping at straws", whatever that means. Actually I don't have a clue

What I do know is I'm ready for that "ultimate drive"

If you get the Vehicle Inquiry Report from your CA, it will show the port. BAL should be Baltimore, SSI is Brunswick (I assume that's for Saint Simons Island).

(and just ignore me if you meant you just don't know why it's going where it's going)

Congrats!! I'm on the same vessel with my 228i Msport. I was told mine will be unloaded in Brunswick before heading down to Fort Lauderdale. The anticipation is a killer but I'm super excited!!! Thank you to everyone here for their endless knowledge. I've learned so much here, with this being my first bimmer and all.

Let me answer this by saying

The vessel should arrive in Baltimore around 03/17/15 then it will be transported to Texas. Provided all goes well my car should arrive at my dealer around 03/28/15. I plan on taking delivery on 04/04/15.

We'll see

Congratulations shipmate It's awsome to know that our cars are on their way! Be forewarned, your first BMW will undoubtedly not be your last

This is my third one but I'm as just as excited as if it was my very first

Look forward to seeing pics when you get your car. What color and specs did you order?

Didn't know this was your first BMW!

Congrats bro! Your going to love it but of course you know that

And uh, YES! This forum puts the "Rock" in "Roll"

The comradery on this forum is a magnificent degree of insane! It's awsome how everyone shares information and helps each other!

The positive optimistic approach everyone takes is rare on many car forums. Everyone here is a "class act"

I went with EB W/ black dekota leather, and EB trim, 6MT, M Sport package, premium package, lighting package, and HK stereo upgrade. I'm also staring at the gloss black kidney grills and EB reflectors that are waiting to be installed upon arrival. Waiting until I break the engine in before ordering the JB4. I just know that if I preordered it, there's no way I'dwait to install. Haha

Nice build, but I'm surprised you didn't get the track handling package. You seem like you care about performance.

Yea, I know. It was a tough decision to make. At first I was between a stripper 235 and this, but decided I'd rather have some luxuries. With the stripper, the track package would have been my only option.....and If I would have known how different the HK stereo is in the 2 compared to the 3, I would have gone for the track package. I figured this would be a nice starting point. Most likely sell in 3 years, and upgrade to an true M. Plus my roommate has about $25K into his 1M, so I'm nowhere near touching that power! Live and learn, as they say. Lol
