The EWG harness is still in early BETA. Without it you'll be limited to around 4-5psi over stock. Better than a Stage1 but not up to the full JB4 mapping which depending on your fuel could run as much as 10psi over stock. No doubt there is plenty of work to go on the EWG mapping as BMS is the only tuner I've seen who even offers EWG tuning control.

Other tunes like Manhart do not alter the cam timing. It's impossible to do with just one wire on one vanos sensor. Instead they use that connection to read RPM. The JB4 on the other hand reads RPM via the CANbus. Without electronic wastegate control the Manhart would be similarly limited to 4-5psi over stock. A lot of the EU tuners like to ramp up the partial boost throttle mapping which makes it feel boost happy in the midrange. BMS has a setting to do that also if you'd like in the JB4. They just don't advertise it as they prefer the linear throttle input where you only get full boost at 100% throttle. Contact them for mapping details if you want to try it out.

In the event you are happy with 4-5psi you would not want to bother with the EWG harness at all. The posts are not directed to you but OP who can determine whether he needs the EWG BETA add on.

No idea why your car didn't run right at partial throttle, but I have the JB4 with EWG/FF wires, intake and downpipe. So far I've only tried maps 1 and 2, but driveability is no different than stock, just significantly faster.

Terry recommends Map 2 in this application which is 4-5psi over stock correct me if Im wrong... and has throttle issues ? In Australia a new M135i is $70K so I guess beta tester isn't for me
Map 2 is 14.5psi but without EWG BETA you'll be limited to around 13psi. If 13psi is enough for you it sounds like EWG BETA was not for you! It's easy to just put that connector back to stock. Some guys I know helping test only connect it for track use.

I see you have a Stage1 turbo? That requires special EWG tuning to work right. BMS recently added one to their 435i EWG.

On the $70k Crazy on the car price. I hope they pay you guys enough to make up for it over there.

On the Manhart piggyback it's not something I'm overly familiar with. Throw up the logs I'm curious how they compare AFR wise to stock and the JB4. I have a feeling it will be identical but logs normally don't lie.

Just curious what kind of conditions allow you trap 118 mph.
On Map 7/100 octane on the JB4 my best trap has been 110 mph.
Runs 12.7 ET consistently at 109.5 with 1.95-2.0 60 ft. Foot braking.
Got lucky once with lauch control when tired hooked, cut a 1.89 60 ft and ran PB of 12.45 ET.Launch control now just spins tires so get best times foot braking and easing into throttle .

At what rwhp? What mods?
On Map 7/100 octane( dynoed at 370 rwhp) with the JB4 my best trap has been 110 mph.

Only mods are JB4 and MPPE.Thinking about down pipes.
