Over this past weekend I installed a Remus Responder and couldn't be happier. Best $200 upgrade so far, even better than the Dinan Sport Tune as far as adding to the driving experience. Read here: https://www.2addicts.com/forums/show....php?t=1565116

Dinan Free Flow

Perfectly aligned Dinan exhaust tips within diffuser outlet. Used zip ties on left and right hangers to keep exhaust from creeping left or right.

Got the Dinan Elite V2 installed in my 2017 230i. Butt dyno results are impressive despite an odd power surge around 3k RPM.

Did you buy your parts from "bimmer masterpieces"? I have the BMW alcantara/dry carbon kit but wouldn't mind some more alcantara - I love that stuff!

Deleted the resonator today. I Can hardly hear any difference in sound. Burbles May be 5% louder if that. this is with M performance exhaust.

This will be fixed soon! I have been testing the V2 for a little over a month and hit them up about the odd surge a few days into testing it. They are aware, and we have a tentative time sometime in January to take my car back in to sort out the issue. They had some other projects going on and didn't have time to get back to it until now. Keep an eye on their page for some another awesome goodie to be available soon! Just got word production is complete on something else I have been testing.

I need to move out of Cali! An intake? I am stuck with a BMC air filter replacement. I know I have said this before, but with the automatic the surge from the V2 is a combination of the turbo spooling up, the gearing and the increased PSI which clear_blue has been reporting. However, in manual mode, by paddle shifting, I can eliminate the surge that I was experiencing around 2-2.5K. But, if there is a program update, I wouldn't mind a more linear power/torque increase.

I have been talking with someone that also drives an auto with the v2 and said the same thing about it not being that bad. For me in a 6spd it's at any rpm range in any gear. Yes it's party the turbo spooling up, but it's something else too since I can get it to happen at 2k or 4.5k rpm. Regardless of which gear or rpm or mode of driving it always occurs at 50% throttle input based on the throttle pos sensor. There is a drop in power and then a surge to get it all back nearly in an instant. It is suspected to be an issue with the "low end throttle tip in"

I did. It’s got a slightly hand-finished feel, but is none the worse for it. My only gripe is that the door strips don’t quite mould to the twisting profile of the door pockets, and not all of it sticks properly. But most of it does, and it’s not going to come off. The alcantara material is identical to BMWs own (I have some of that too) so matches perfectly. An Alcantara shift boot and handbrake gaiter would also be nice...

Oil Change Yesterday

My local Indie garage put Kendall Full Synthetic 5W40 into my 230i at its intermediate oil change. This was a change from the BMW oil he used before. When I asked him why, he said the new GT-1 formula has been working really well for the MBs he services and is the perfect oil for California...cool winters and warm summers. Should I be worried?

It will probably do the job without issue, but if you have an engine oil related failure and are not using an oil that meets BMW LL specification for the 230i, then you may have problems getting warranty coverage.

aerobod...thanks for the response. I looked online and it does meet BMW LL-01 rating.

OK I missed it, so here are some mostly with the flash.

The sun visors a great; a reduction in the preponderance of plastic, as they suggest, and are thicker and more expensive feeling than the functional but thin originals. The Alcantara door trims look great but they don't quite fit and are prone to being scuffed because of the long doors and the tiny, mean, communist little car spaces that British car parks have. The Alcantara around the gearshift is BMW's own but despite how it may look, with the different camera treatment, the material is identical.

The HVAC/stereo panel is next, and last. I quite like the material; it softens the interior, feels nice to the touch, and isn't M-anything (this car has the M-Sport packet which in the UK is sold as a different model, but it isn't an M - and the M Performance visuals are just too much for me).

Today I made things disappear. The toll tag looked like a whitehead, so I plasti dipped it; the bimmian stripes were never my cup of tea, and were starting to chip, so I sanded and repainted the slats. Much cleaner now.
