My car was broken into years ago in our driveway. I heard the alarm but figured the damage was already done. And did I really want to confront someone with the mentality of breaking into cars? All it did was wake me up.

Has this been determined yet? Would like to code it but don't see any reference in the cheat sheet...

Thanks!

Pretty neat after-market theft prevention:

I believe there are different part numbers for the rear view mirror depending on options, alarm and the rear dimming come to mind. I don't think you get a red light at all without the alarm.

I don't see how you could possibly miss the loud "kerchunk" sound as the doors look. Who needs a flash and a beep?

now that I have to get an aftermarket alarm I feel like it defeats the purpose of getting the 'premium' package, I cant just pull the handle to open the door, now I'll have to deactivate the alarm and then open the car...

also since it's 'too late' what's the best aftermarket alarm system for the car. granted I don't wanna pay a bunch of money.
Call your SA....they can still add it.

This. If your CA won't do it, call the sales manager at the dealer.

When I bought my Z4 back in 2003, I didn't have the optional alarm system, but the BMW service techs were able to code the clown nose to blink when I locked the doors. I assume that can be done with current models.
Check with the Genius at your BMW store - he/she will know and/or find out.

I remember seeing that somebody said it was possible http://www.2addicts.com/forums/showp...4&postcount=12 but don't know the exact coding....

maybe compare the CAFD of a car with and without and try to find it.... or maybe it's the alarm that connects to the light so without it, it will not work....

or try this http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25207

I'll dig around in my X5 CAFD's...it has an alarm/BMW Assist but M235 doesn't. Narrowing down which ECU will be first...
