2015 M235i Coupe Deal

Want to field this out there since prices are being discussed.

I got a non-BMW dealer offering me a 2015 M235i 6MT for $32,500. It has about 23k miles on the ODO. Original MSRP $49,500 approx.

6MT Coupe
Navigation
Driving Assist
Cold Weather
H&K audio
Moon roof

Clean Carfax, clean car.

What do you guys think?

Single owner? MT isn't the easiest thing to come by if it's a color you like get a PPI done and go for it after seeing if you can get the price down a little (might as well).

Since it's still under warranty you can always pay to have it CPO'd before that expires.

2 owner car according to CarFax but we think the same owner drove it just registered it in different States after a year each time. White on red interior.

The $32,500 is after negotiations. I checked Manheim auctions and last week one sold for $32,250 same mileage so only a couple hundred over wholesale.

I'm pushing for them to give it up for $32,000 even.

Is the market poised to move drastically downstream in the coming months?

If it's got the red interior, it also has leather, so a ~51k MSRP car. If it's really clean than I would go for it if that's what you want. Sounds like a very reasonable price.

Is the market going to move downstream? Hard to tell but BMW residuals on new 2-series seem a little lower now than they were 2 years ago. I know BMW manipulates the residuals to move cars, but it's one of the data points that can be used to predict future market performance.

Look at current 2014 m235i private party selling prices for a rough estimate of what your car will be worth a year from now. There is a m235i now on this site where the seller is try to get $28,XXX for a 2014 with 35k miles that had a similar MSRP to the one you're looking at when new.

What he said. Really, what are you going to do keep looking and hope to find another low mileage MT car in a color combo you like for better money and save a grand or two? Unlikely TBH.

As long as the PPI is good I'd go for it. You can always add CPO before the original warranty expires if you want to keep the car.
