JB4 Connect Kit(RED WIRE)

Ok, just got my brand new F series JB4(EWG)/w EWG harness and Connect Kit. Installing my EWG wires and connect on the JB4 board was a scary process but super simple.

So after reading outdated instructions from BMS and researching videos that only show old model JB4s.. I am not 100% sure what I am suppose to do with the red(5v) wire coming out the connect? The PDF picture shows that im suppose to use the posi-tap to connect to any red wire coming out of my JB4!?
Im confused because that would cause me to cut the nice wrap that comes around my JB4 wires. Is this really what I have to do with the connect red wire?

EDIT** It might be that I can use the posi-tap to pierce the small amout of wires coming directly out the back of JB4. No cutting the harness around the rest of the wire..

MY JB4/w CONNECT INSTALLED

PDF PIC SAYS TO DO THIS?

You can connect it anywhere 5v if you have the washer like connector you can put it on the terminal no problem.

Pretty sure I have mine on the jumper terminal under the hood. Next to where they tell you to install the actual jb4 unit.

same thing you are still taking power from the same source at the same power node. doesn't matter.
It should work properly.

The pic is right on, i just installed one of these last week.

You should just tap it 5v at either red wire coming out of the main jb4 harness (as indicated in the picture). Do not tap it to battery 12v lug near the JB4

The posi-tap makes this super simple, just don't drop it and lose it like me.. I ended up using car-audio t-taps.

posi-taps are pretty nice, but they are significantly more expensive than t-taps in bulk.
