M235i - turn DSC off in sport mode?

If I put the car in to sport mode the throttle response sharpens and exhaust gets louder etc, and if I go up again to sport plus mode it all stays the same as expected (only now the traction control is not quite as aggressive of course). But what about if I want to turn traction control completely off? Holding the traction control button for a few seconds does indeed turn DSC off but it seems to also put it back in to comfort mode. Kind of. The exhaust still seems to stay the same sound as in sport mode, but the throttle response gets noticeably softer. Also if I press the down arrow on the mode selection button it goes in to eco mode, implying it was in comfort mode before I pressed the button (as normally in sport plus mode if you press down it goes down to sport mode).

So is there a way to turn DSC off whilst staying in sport/sportplus mode?

DSC off it's like a mode on itself...

Active sound (louder exhaust): on
Throttle response: slow
Steering heavy
Dampers: stiff

Here's the answer to this puzzling question. Both DCS and DTC are deactivated at speeds greater than 31 mph in Sport+ mode. Here's why:

According to the 2 Series owners manual (pages 111-114) DSC is deactivated in Sport+ mode and DTC is also deactivated when you are traveling at speeds greater than 31 mph. Based on this I conclude that the e-diff is the only thing that is active on the track since most if not all corners are taken at speeds greater than 31 mph.

So that would mean that DSC off is the same as Sport+ over 31mph...

only difference would be throttle mapping on DSC off is slow while it's fast in sport+

I can tell you this, when in Sport+ and you turn off DSC (5 second hold) The 2015 model will show you Sport when you push the settings button next the shifter (sorry forgot the name). When in fact you where in Comfort mode ( I agree with Pikcachu that it is not just comfort as the sound of Sport+ is still there)

On 2014 Models it used to show Comfort mode when you pushed the up button. So in 2015 BMW decided to make you feel like you are in Sport. Now when you press the up button you don't see what mode you are in, you see the next mode up or down. That is why when you are in Sport+ and turn DSC OFF and then select the down arrow on the drive select button you will see ECO-PRO as the selected setting. IF you were actually in sport you would have to push the down button twice....
