I have yet to see a B58 M240 dyno, but the 340/440i 6MT dynos I've seen show ~330whp/330wtq. So that means ~390hp/390tq. Since the M240 comes with M Performance Power Kit (MPPK) stock (so did the M235), which was typically good for 15whp/20wtq on 335/435i adding the MPPK, I would think the M240 would show around 340-345whp/350wtq. Considering that the auto mags have gotten 12.7s@111mph out of the automatic M240, those ET/MPH are consistent with a car putting that type of power. Mag times for the lighter M2 (which consistently does ~330whp/360wtq) is in the 12.7@112mph range. It all makes sense, IMO. With that said, I have a hard time seeing the M240 being offered with a MPPK seeing that it's already marketed hear as coming with it. |

I just ordered an M240i xDrive convertible to replace my 2013 135is. (trying to get down to one car). My sales person, who is generally quite knowledgeable, said that the Power Kit is available for the M240i but I can find no evidence of it on the web. When the car gets here I'll try to explore further. Based on the one I test drove it'll be fast enough. I might want to get the noisy exhaust though.

Spoke to the service manager locally and they DO NOT offer M power kit for the M240 currently - maybe in the future, but not now. On the fence about getting the Dinan Stage 1 installed...

They lost me with this bit of stupidity:
"No longer is it a secretary’s car." 20hp is nice, but really just a 5-6% bump on a 340'ish motor - to use this and try the 'you drive a girl's car if it is stock' is just pathetic. Even if you were doing this with a 120hp bump to run on meth, it would still be kind of lame. |

My Service Manager convinced me that my mod money would have more value if I went with a mod I can "feel" instead of hear. The car is amazing in stock form, take that fun factor and multiply it by 2 with The Stage 1 mod, it will put a smile on your face every time you blip the gas peddle, even in comfort mode. money well spent...

Nice, good to hear about your experience - I only have ~3,800 kms on my car. I am not sure if it needs a certain amount of mileage before you can start adding tunes or mods. So I may wait, till I have about 10,000 kms - I would love to get the stage 1, but my BMW dealer is not receptive of Dinan and giving me a hard time regarding warranties. There is a Dinan approved shop locally - I may go there and get it done, either way I will have warranty through BMW or Dinan. Also, Stage 1 is on a completely stock car correct ? No extras required.

Dealer said no worries can install right away with no break in. They sell brand new cars with the Dinan tunes already installed on them. |

I am not sure why they are so anti Dinan, so far as to going my BMW warranty will be void if I install Dinan tune - which is absolute crap talk! |

So IMHO if you choose to install a Dinan piggyback in your vehicle, don't bank too much on their so-called warranty. |

Then why are people paying so much for Dinan Elite? False advertising on part of Dinan? One thing I am worried as your pointed out what will I do when BMW says Dinans fault and Dinan says "I didn't do it". Then indeed, I will be really screwed.

The Dinan tune is mild in comparison to others and I heard the B58 is a bullet-proof motor which is capable of a lot more boost than stock, so you'll be fine.. |

You guys are missing a huge, huge point in the article that the OP referenced: The car in question is a convertible. That means:
- No staggered wheel setup - A/S tires standard - No extra cooling capacity with the standard ZHP package - Extra weight Those four things effectively represent the difference in 0-60 times. Also: - The M2 is not available as a convertible So, um, yeah ... details, folks. Details!
