Yup. Exactly how I see it playing out.

I think there's also a small chance some sort of corner vent at the outer corner of the headlights is possible.

Hood will have the shut line higher up the bonnet but yes pretty much like this beast hopefully, all win! I love it in the White Red and Blue in Gran Turismo 6.
If you look at the design language of that shot, it's all about the "slits". Everything looks like a cut. The bonnet power vents, the eye cuts, and the grill. It looks very cohesive at that angle. I hope all of those lines stay, but the conservative side would be to remove the hood and the light cuts and tone down the front a bit.

We'll see...

Frankensteined the crazy wide GT concept from above with a normal M235i. No skills, just meh.

I really don't think the hood line on the 2 is that bad. I believe it has to do with the fact that the headlights don't connect to the grill, making it less congested, so the lines of the headlights dont pull you all the way towards the messy part. I think it actually looks pretty nice.

Same here. I don't think it's a big deal at all. Not that I'd get a dark colored car, but for people that are getting dark grey or black, it should be even less of an issue.

I'm leaning towards donnington at the moment, so it'll probably look alright. Not the best, but alright.

It's an M2. How bad could it look?

Yes the hood doesn't look terrible but, in that regard, the opportunity for improvement is obvious!

I wonder why that tiny sensor on the roof is camo'd when the one on the trunk isn't.

Good eye. It is really the stock M235i front, stretched to fit. Gives the overall illusion, but in reality the lights will probably be closer to the center and the grills will be much smaller and narrower. This kinda looks like an M6 with more aggressive lines. I think it's going to look really really good once revealed.

My wife has a white 5 series that has that same hood line. I don't notice day to day. Really only see it in pictures on the internet.

My educated guess is that the air vents will be larger and perhaps a little more curved/angular. The middle section/slab has to be somewhat big enough to mount a euro plate on (but not as big or flat/angular like the Xmas day photo shows).

The more important question is: how do I go about getting a job at BMW? Willing to stat at the bottom. Lol

Thank you all for your encouraging words and appreciation, I appreciate the kind responses! I'm thrilled that I was able to help us move along in terms of deciphering the details of the ever elusive M2.

Lets hope we get some nice spy shots sometime this month! Again, thank you all for being a great community. Glad I could contribute something.

Rock on BMW

I took hyperzulu's idea and used the M235 Racing, since it has the wider flares similar to what the M2 will have and put it over the BMW GT concept

I didn't stretch the width of the M235, it's already pretty wide

As you can tell I'm no photoshop expert, just had some time on my hands
