Detroit Auto Show 2015 - is there any chance?

I was looking this morning at some articles from October which were suggesting the possibility of the concept reveal at Detroit. I know that'd be out of character for BMW to do (it'd be rather early), but.... maybe there's a small chance? :

This has been covered in other threads. According to Scott26, the concept M2 will be introduced at Frankfurt 2015.

That leads to my guess that we'll see the M2 production intro at Detroit NAIAS 2016.

As much as I'd love to see something so soon, I have to agree with the above poster.

I think we CAN look forward to more spy shots as the prototypes undergo winter testing in January...

If the rumors are any indication, Ford Performance is going to absolutely own this auto show. Probably better that it doesn't happen until later this year.

Frankfurt Auto Show in September should be the first showing. LA Auto Show will be the first USA showing in November.

Oh trust me, I've been following that thread like a hawk. But I like to tease myself with my own optimism.

There was a Roundel article that said it could be revealed at the Detroit show. How much credibility that brings I am not sure. Maybe BMW will surprise us. I see it that the longer they take to develop something the more time they're giving competition to catch up/keep up and take away sales.

Well I'd argue that statistically, the chance is greater than zero.

Sadly not but we can hope.

On totally differing news, the GTConceot car in OS3 GT6 has been super upgraded, it now handles like a dream and is virtually the best car in the game!

We know that the chances are near zero but it doesn't mean we can't hope!

I'll settle for a near production-like prototype. Sigh.

Looking forward to seeing the front wheel drive X2. Like the 1 series, the X1 is too small and ugly for me. The X2 should be a nice improvement over the X1.

the current X1 drives like a BMW...drives better than any current 328 or 335 or 2-series. Hydraulic steering is great...the FWD stuff is going to drive like a VW. no thanks. Then again BMW aren't really on the right track these days IMO with all the watered down new stuff...

You are right that the X1 35 is awesome and I agree that it drives better than 328...have had both as overnight loaners at different time while the 1M was in the shop. In fact, I didnt really miss the 1M all that much while driving the X1 but hated every second with the 328. I know the n20 motor gets a lot of praise but I didnt see it. Haven't driven a new 335 or 2 series so I can't compare it to those.
