High Gloss Black Trim Ordering Code 4GD

This is shown in the Canadian 2 series convertible product planning bulletin. Maybe I missed it, but I've never seen it before in the ordering or pricing guides here in the U.S. for either the coupe or convertible. Anyone have any insight into its availability in the U.S.?

Are you talking about the trim around the windows (exterior)? Then yes, my car has this and i think most if not all 235s do. If you are talking about interioor trim, I'm not sure if BMW is currently offerring a gloss black for the 2 seires. Mine has a gloss black accent stripe, but not solid black. I know of the m performance/alcantara trim and the other standard trim, but anything can be done for a price. Maybe wrap it?

It is interior trim. High gloss black with Oxide Silver Highlight. I've attached the page with the info.

I have high gloss black trim in my current MINI and, while it looks nice in pictures and in the car when it's clean, it gets dusty quickly and shows every speck of dust. If you're even the slightest bit obsessive about the interior appearance of your car you might want to avoid the high gloss back interior trim. I'm not a huge fan of brushed aluminum trim but I went with it on my ordered 228i.

I also have a Mini and agree with you 100%. The problem is that I don't like ANY of the alternatives offered on the 2 series :-)

ive seen this trim in the m3/m4 (i'm guessing its like the radio etc). looks a little more expensive, but yeah, ... im sure it would show scratches and dust very easily

I felt the same way. The fake wood was out immediately and I didn't want to do the gloss black again so that left me with the two aluminum options. I reluctantly chose the brushed because it looked darker and therefore less "in your face" than the hex. The best alternative would have been a more matte black.
