Soon to be newbie - with questions...

Hi all -

I'm set to pick up my new BMW M235i in the next couple of weeks and I can't wait!

It's a nearly new ex demonstrator littered with extras which I have listed below,

BMW Factory Options
BMW Professional Media package
Driver Comfort Package
Sun Protection Package
Visibility Package
Enhanced Bluetooth telephone with USB and Voice Control
Harman Kardon hi-fi
External mirrors – folding, auto dimming
Electric front seats with driver memory
Lumbar support – driver & front passenger
Seat heating – front
Through-loading system
Full Black panel display
Adaptive M Sport suspension
Reversing assist camera
Sport automatic transmission
Balance of 5 years maintenance/service pack

M Performance Accessories
M Performance exhaust system
M Performance carbon fibre exhaust tips
M Performance aero kit
M Performance mirror caps in carbon fibre
M Performance sports steering wheel
M Performance full interior trim in Carbon fibre and Alcantara
M Performance accent stripes
M Performance high-grade steel pedals
M Performance floor mats

Aftermarket Options
Eibach Pro Kit lowering springs – 20mm front/10mm rear
Eibach wheel spacers – 20mm front/20mm rear

I'm new to BMW and new to the M235i - does anybody have any tips or suggestions around must have upgrades? I'm thinking my first change will be the wheels, I'm considering having them restored to a gunmetal grey, lighter than the Mineral Grey body colour but not quite the normal alloy silver... is there anything else I should be considering?

I do have a couple of questions that I hope somebody can answer...?

The first question is referring to winter tires, I'm based in the UK and I've spoken to BMW UK who have advised me that there is currently no 19" option for the performance wheels - is this case? Does anybody know the exact spec of the wheels so that I can start calling around?

Secondly question is around performance, Im coming from a C63 coupe so I am expecting a slight decrease in performance, however can anybody recommend any GOOD engines remap providers in the UK? Has anybody else come from a C63? If so what are you thoughts?

Some quick iPhone pictures attached, will be sure to get some decent ones on here as soon as I've picker her up and give her a clean!

Dean

Not sure there's much left to upgrade! Fully loaded ( I might remove those M strips on the grill and put the boot badge back though)
Considering the AC Schnitzer upgrade kinda pricy though at £2.5k fitted but they still have BMW ties and Oldbury Sytners is on there list as a friendly official dealership install port, local to yourself and me. Looking forward to pics, like some feedback when you pick up if you could what's the mileage and how's the alcantara steering wheel holding up

Cheers

Cheers for the comment!

Forgot to mention the grill stickers will definitely be going prior to collection - personally not a fan. However I kind of like the idea of keeping it unmarked, since the release I've only seen one m235i on the road in the UK!

All alcantara looks brand new and it has 3600 miles on the clock! Although did notice a squeaky break pedal and quite a bit of travel in the pedal also - is this normal?

Will definitely be back with more pictures and a bit of feedback, especially comparisons if any with the C63.

Great looking ride! Not sure if you could get BMS across the pond but they have a good following Stateside, referring to your power question.

I would have concerns about the use of lowering springs with the adaptive suspension. Perhaps others have had experience with this before?

Thank you for the comment - good point I had not thought of this...

Does anybody know or have experience of lowering springs in conjunction with adaptive suspension?

I'm loving your wheels. Are they from the BMW M Performance shop? Did you have the Eibach springs and spacers added or was that done by BMW when the car was a tester? I would recommend the BMS JB4, good value and somewhat future proof, with a good name behind it.
