Hi, all.
Here's another soon(?)-to-be M235i owner. Configuration: RWD, ZF8 trans, Glacier Silver w/Coral Red interior, premium and tech packages, DA and DA+, heated seats.
At this writing, the car has been in production status for ~ 2 weeks, and I'm getting impatient. We owned an E39 528i a while back and it'll be great to have a fun-to-drive car again. The snow has begun to fall here (Michigan), and I'm hoping the new car makes it here before the roads are too heavily salted. Best wishes to all and hope to be a real member soonest! -Karl |

Welcome! Glad to see another Michigander here! Also, glad to see another one who knows the pleasures of rear wheel drive don't have to be lost just because of our lousy weather! Winter tires are the solution! Not sure what tires you have, but I just posted a thread about my winter tires - Blizzak WS80. There are no original equipment tires from BMW which will do you well for the winter, so you might want to consider a similar set-up.....

Hi, all.
I'd already read your snow tire post, and was horrified to see that the PSSs aren't usable below 40 F.
What is the make, width and offset of those wheels, please. I think they look nice! -K. |

It is kind of sad the dealer wherever may not have alerted you to the PSS issues in cold weather. Summer performance tires will simply not work, and when you take possession, my counsel is to get the tires changed to all season immediately. Yes, its extra expense now, but do it, as it is risky to drive in cold or with the snow-weather you will have. Just don't. Make arrangements now for the exchange. It's the safest decision you can make.

I've been driving around on my PSS this past week with the temps getting down to the low 30s and they seem to be ok. I'm just extra careful not to use too much throttle, steering angle, or brake too hard while giving myself a larger gap than normal. I've had more aggressive summer tires on cars in the past and they definitely did harden up and lose a lot more grip than the PSS do. I will park the thing once it gets to the point where there is snow though.
