Front tire outside tread
I was flushing my brake fluid and noticed unusual wear on the outside of my front tires. I have staggered setup and run the tires at recommendation on door sticker.
After seeing this wear, which appears to be under-inflation, I bumped the front tires up to 39. Wear measured 7/32nds so I will be replacing soon anyway. Just don’t want to have this happen to the next pair. 2015 M235i vert is RWD driven as street, maybe with a bit of fun. Any input? On a 50/50’ish balanced car, why is the front psi recommended lower? |

I think the outside wear in the front is pretty common on these cars, especially ones that are driven spiritedly. Probably why camber plates or other front geometry mods are so popular.

You could probably check the alignment .... maybe you have too much toe in... but shoulder wear is usually cause of lack of camber.... that's why using the M3 LCAs is very popular that gives you an extra 1 deg of neg camber i would probably do 36-37 psi |

Same psi sticker on my end. My guess is that the convertible top when open shifts weight to the back (plus the mechanic/engines for it) so that it isn't 50/50 anymore.
But 8 psi sound too much of a difference to my (feeling not science) so I usually go with 36/41 |
